What is this?

A little campaign mod by Spiral and Heempy
This is a modification of the standard campaign, only with new encounters and with a new feel!
You are now elites, dropped of by phantoms, killing heretics!
(and yes, the phantom works!)



So far we've only redone b30, the silent cartographer. This mod will change the feel of each map
with a dramatic change in scenery. b30 is now a overgrown jungle indoors, sounds weird but it turned out pretty good! (its not cmt good so yeah)

These heretics where requested by me a while ago and that call of distress was answered by Co1t3r. (thank you!)

after carefully thinking about the campaign me and heempy realized "only carbines and needlers?" boring. heempy set out on a great journey to find what he could for the mod and he found...


These weapons and more will be incorporated
Thanks to Ifafudafi's ASCM(I loved it!), the missions will be less repetitive in weapons tags (sorry I had to turn the plasma beam orange, brute plasma rifle's fault).
proper credit will be given in the end

Brutes?
there will be numerous dead brute squads to give loads of ammo, brute ammo!
inspired from halo 2


not sure if we are going to add brute teammates, seems weird

-needle rifle

-Halo 2 Dialog (did it my self... most of it)

.... can somebody tell me why those plants are growing in dark metal areas? if the metal was cracked with the plants coming out, with them ensnaring light producing objects, I could understand... but directly in the metal with very little light.....

It being a swamp and everything I would say yes to flood.

But I do think that the whole jungle thing turned out pretty well.

this looks good but I'd feel as if I'm playing for the wrong team, after all, heretics are good guys, right? Why not make it where you play as the heretics instead.

Maybe if you could script the level sort of differently where you start off on the outer part of the level, and defend the level in a sort of losing battle that requires you to retreat to the interiors of the level, like maybe instead of deactivating the security doors you fight to do the opposite and actually activate them

I'm sure for an interesting project like this you could find a scripter if you really wanted to, but okay

I'll probably play the level regardless, but Covies vs Heretics was done in Halo 2, and as fun as it was, it would be interesting to see things from the perspective of the Heretics.

Or Covenant vs Humans. Something that makes you feel evil. >:P

I've just never liked being evil, even in video games, but I always get joy from slaughtering defenseless enemies in very brutal merciless ways, which is why I swooned at the rebirth island level with all those defenseless scientists

Hold on I'm getting a little confused on this one. What exactly is this?

Since you just said you can't script I assume this is just a mp with AI in it? Or this is a mod that plays exactly like b30 with different bipeds?

I know it says campaign mod, but to be that just means you reused a BSP for something else.

told you you could find a scripter spiral, damn i should'v bet money

also btw I recommend new encounters and just scripting in the vehicles

in case you don't know, the scripting commands for vehicles are basically:

if objects aren't placed at level start:
ai_place (ai encounter name goes here)
object_create (vehicle name here)

finally:
vehicle_load_magic "seat name goes here, driver, gunner, etc." (vehicle name here)

I think that's pretty much how it goes, might be missing a word or two, or maybe some punctuation, I haven't scripted in awhile due to being banned from all video games for a month in order to build a "better family relationship" -.-'

Plant's can't grow through metal... make a decoy of dirt and broken metal plates so it looks decent...

I believe it's called a "decoy" alcahol dunna help :/

Hope there is halo 2 like voice acting or in depth story.

egarding with some heretic equipment I was wondering if you can heretize the lamp/torches instead of blue maybe a yellow orange or red light

it seems weird to have the black plasma rifle i think i saw it in a video once its cool but it doesn't fit covenant weaponry but if you really like it i guess ill trust it up to you to make a good campaign!

if you want growth consider moss in tunnels and in the structures

illuminated wall would look cool too

needler looks eh

if you have sentinel beams will there be sentinels/enforcers? and youre discussing about flood battle already(i think a flood level should be separate level or revisit level

i dont like just having around dead brutes, if you can let them ride the phantoms and have them in cut scenes like in halo 2

i really like the feel of the level so far, what kind of operation is this if i may ask?

You can just add extra AI to the original encounters. As for vehicles you would have to add the commands to the scope of the script block.



To be honest what I would do is script from scratch. I would not use the original campaign for this. I would give the player different encounters, stories, HUD messages, music, objectives, everything. This would not be a campaign mod, but a custom level besides the BSP.

There would be no resemblance between this and the actual b30 campaign, besides the BSP.

yes but that would remove some of the opportunities for customization that are given with a fresh encounter, which is why I made this suggestion

The only thing I can think of is the team it is on, and if you want it blind and whatnot.

Other than that you can do anything with a pre-existing encounter. Add an extra grunt, elite, ect.

On the other hand, looks very fun and promising! Make me want to download Halo CE again!
