EDIT:

Made a full tutorial from importing a gbx model to adding mocap to ready to export as halo animation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-2UpYbyvs0&feature=plcp&context=C3dadd07UDOEgsToPDskI3UD6XuvR74ochD0LEkWve

Made another tutorial on how to get existing halo animations into biped/bvh/bip format.
http://youtu.be/5M7mUB_fZZ8

Then you need to blend and "tween" the 2 mocaps.
How to use multiple .bip's and how to transition them.

Here are some compiled mocap animations for the cyborg bones.
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?qsuw67y2kes6ex5

This is the list of animations:
back_kick
backflip
backflip_spring
balls_walk
boom
cool_walk
dance_a
drunk_walk
fast_march
gammy_walk
goose_march
hip_hop
jump_kick_punch
jump_round_kick
knee_march
new_death
new_nade
right_kick
robot
russian_dance
side_flips
slip
spins
tantrum
tough_walk
victory
vogue

And a short video of a couple of them.

If you have any problems or questions just ask.

Have fun with your xbox kinect mocap tools.
http://www.kinecthacks.com/guides/kinect-motion-capture-tutorial/
I think these are the results you could get.

Thanks a ton to l28, for helping me out with this stuff, and teaching me too :)

Thanks to TauSigmaNova and iHalo for the h3 biped and rig.

not as simple as it sounds though, you then have to clean that data and add the markers to it as the pure data on it's own is useless. Use Autodesk Motionbuilder for that. Once you get the hang of it, it's rather easy, ive done it.

And you need at least 4 cameras tbh, and might be complicated to setup the cameras.

Can one create a bip or bvh file from pre-existing animations? And do the bones of the biped have to be the same?

I am making a tut on how to use these on your own rig, and get them ingame.
I have the animations baked to keyframes on the bones now and need someone to tell me the best setup to get the anim ingame.

Last one crashed and complained about "limp body physics"
here is a new version, please tell me if this one works.

Cool stuff.

On a side note, linking mc bones to other game animations should also work right (even though they aren't .bip or .bvh mocap files)?

I do not have any kinect cameras or ps3 cameras, or i would use a real jetpack to create a mocap of jetpack :) , google "brekel" if you do have these things.
I couldnt capture this either because i dont know kung fu, but the actions and foot positions look better now.

Dont worry about the black flashing, its a dynamic mirror problem.

I only used what i could find on the mainpage.
That ODST uses the MC bones though the mesh does not matter, its only the bones that matter.
Looks like it uses the marine bones.
Here is gamma's.
