Hello, as you can see i'm new here, but i've been making maps for a while, i just made this map the last week but i still feel like it needs something, i know that the structures look too simple but idk what u think... i have to add weapons, details, and if you want i can change the structures (it would be a pain but i'll deal with it lol)...some SS. (by the way sorry for my english lol)

brilliant job, your terrain looks great but as you say yourself the structures could do with some more work as in more detail.
btw i mean the structure in the 7th image.
edited again ment to say the 7th not the 6th image.

Mate. Could you please change the name of the project to something else? I've already started on a firefight map named Installation 04. Even changing it to Installation 05 would do.

Give me a new name that fits with the map and i will lol :P

Nice looking map there OP.
I like the uvw work on all the natural stuff, but your choice of textures and uvw mapping on the forerunner stuff and interiors could use a little work, just a little though :)
Nice effort put into this and it shows, good job.
EDIT its just those sections with the round forerunner textures that stand out as bad.

Yes i do, its the 9th and 10th picture.
The round texture does not fit with the angles of the structure.
In picture 7 i think you should use a different texture on the front of the structure, not a yellow one.
Same goes for the wall in picture 8.
Great looking map so far, looks fun

The Terrain is epic. I could see myself playing this if other people played it. Sadly, they wopn't, cause bungie won't show us on the notice list...

The buildings don't look forerunner really, but just keep going and have a look at the forerunner styles in H1,H2,H3, and even some of TMs and CMTs.

People really should have a Forerunner Showcase or Wip Thread so people can get ideas off that. AND people should make more forerunner structures, AND RELEASE THEM. You cannot tell how frustrated I am over the lack of forerunner. Its as if people are blind of the beauty of their architecture.

want to show us where a limit is stated?
the fact is that is your personal opinion, if you don't like it then that is your choice.
no point in bring the persons thread down because you want to say there is a limit on something that is not stated as a limit on platform size, width etc in any map/structure.
it is how the modeler wants it to look. don't forget the maps are based on the fact that there are future materials too, there for weight should have no issue.

Look at any Forerunner Architecture.
the fact is that is your personal opinion, if you don't like it then that is your choice.
Would you like to identify where I didn't like it? No? I didn't think so.
no point in bring the persons thread down because you want to say there is a limit on something that is not stated as a limit on platform size, width etc in any map/structure.
There's a difference between bringing a thread down and suggesting changes. (Look up the definition of WIP)
it is how the modeler wants it to look.
I thought that much was obvious.
don't forget the maps are based on the fact that there are future materials too, there for weight should have no issue.

yeah look at future materials, wait we can't so these forerunner images are for games, you know not real life. games have imagination maybe we can too.
the part you didn't like was made clearly obvious, and stated as a limit.
how the modeler wants it to looks and with his own imagination is the way it goes.
i hope that is a good enough reply for you if not talk in pm, let his thread go on.
there were no hostilities, i'm a pretty chilled out type of guy.

Hi, I like the idea behind this map!
Only thing that bothers me a bit of some of the scenery placement, using so much trees makes it stand out more that you're using the same trees over and over. I recommend breaking some of it up by using some more rocks (I see you've used some boulder moss large, also try using some boulder moss gigantic!!) and perhaps more covenant crates and/or human covers!

And perhaps use the soft-selection tool in 3DS Max a bit to make some of the terrain a bit more "wavey".

But great job so far either way, looking forward to see how you take it from here :)

well about that platform i'm gonna change it's geometry to make it more realistic, and TM i removed some of the trees and added some rocks, and well about using the same trees over and over, bungie only used 2 different kinds of trees (lol) on maps like a30, danger canyon, timberland, etc. i used 8 kinds of trees i believe, and as i said this map is incomplete i need to add more details, i didn't want to make a thread about this but i though it was a good idea to get some opinions from pros to make this map as good as possible, i will post more pictures soon ;D

@caboose: yeah kk

well... i decided that the structures in my map, all of them... are awful and i removed them and i'll make new ones, i will post pics of the new structures soon, btw i still have the previous model and tags (in case i want to go back to the old model lol) but that is obsolete for now, any ideas for the buildings would be appreciated

Ideas? Well, for the base going into the cliff, might a suggest an Immure-ish base, that base was well designed and definitely forerunner.

For the rock pillar, I really have no idea, but maybe like one of those beam structure things, with a doorway at the base/or top. Either that,or maybe something like that forerunner building in CMT a30 SPV2 where you came over the hill and saw the marines defending it form covenant wqith turrets. If someone could supply a picture, that'd be awesome.

Holy hell, I love that. Reminds me of alot of maps I use to make when I first started.

Also, really nice job on the terrain, especially the blending between ground and cliff.

love it, would update the shaders though on everything. Newer grass, maybe some detail/scenery objects like grass (Whatev they be called)would make it shine.
The forerunner interior shaders could use work, also
