well, im just wondering if i need to get an older version of 3ds max to make halo maps, because halo pc was made 10 or 11 years ago and im not sure if it works with 2012 software.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it's for CE, then the version of 3ds doesn't matter. What matters is what exporter of data you use.

which exporter of data should i use?
I used to use Bluestreak, because i was using gmax, but if i use 3ds should i use blitzkreig?

where can i get max 9? on autodesk website oldest one is 3ds max 2010

Not necessarily. I've been using bluestreak for a while and I've never had any problems. Errors I've encountered were of the stuff I've been exporting in it self and not the exporter..

do yous know anywhere i can download max 9 free?

and i have a 3ds max license, so its not illegal.

Thanks for the advice guys,

I've decided I'll use max 2012, because of its freeness to me (school ftw!) and also because i need it later this year for graphics anyway.

Blitzkrieg does not work with max9, only max 8 and below.

I've never actually touched those when using 2010. What does it exactly do?

Is there a working blitzkreig for 3dsmax 2011? if so could you post a link?

Blitzkreig works only on max8 and older.
You need bluestreak if you are using max9 or above.
