Great! Can't wait. Do you have any Halo 4 human weapons that I could get also, or no? If not, do you know anyone I can ask them from who is willing to give them to me? I want to make a decent animation, so I don't want any cruddy looking models...

I have never re-seated my RAM on all of the three desktops and two laptops that I own. I don't seem to have any problems even after five years.

Why so tsundere? He's just trying to help is all. I had my cpu for like the same amount of time and never seemed to have any problems with ram either but if I knew it'd prevent other things from happening, I would've done it.

If you don't mind me asking, can I see the mat set up for the ships seen in the last render?

In the slate editor? Assuming you use max.

I've been struggling to get stuff to look right due to the fact that reflection maps and shaders don't get extracted rightl

Again, there is no "reflection maps and shaders being extracted right". The reflection maps are being extracted fine. There are no problems with extracting reflection maps, and all you can see from shaders are what bitmaps the game references for applying to each model. The shaders in halo games are meant for use in halo games, being that they are using an engine much more different when compared to say the Cryengine or unrealengine. You can't just simply take the shaders and try to slap it onto another game or program and expect it to look exactly like you want it to. Recreate it yourself instead of expecting extracted shaders to be "correct" to spoonfeed you.

Well, I've tried. I spent a LOT of time on the needler, and still am working on it right now. Same goes with the covie ships.

In regards to the reflection maps, I've looked through the map files, and I can only find like 3 or 4 that look normal. If you could point out where the most of them are, it would be really helpful.

I don't expect the shaders to work, but I figured if I could at least figure out what shader is what I may be able to glean some sort of useful info.

In regards to me asking for his mat set up, I'm not asking to be spoonfed. I'm asking to be taught how he did it so I can try to use that info to make my own set up, not just copy past. The only reason I got as far as I did with the needler was because a lot of people showed me their mat setups. I never would have gotten what I have now purely on my own.

I'm using this as a learning experience, and to have fun. On that note, if anybody wants the needler mat set up, I'd be happy to send it over.

I would be -very- interested to know how you got the colour channels to work in Blender. I've been stumped for it, and I don't want to have to go through a complete tutorial to learn Max just for that x_x

seperate materials from eachother and add the bitmaps to that material. then under where it says influence untick color, it will allow the materials color to influence bitmap color

Going to need a -wee- bit more than that to go with. About the most I know with Blender and textures is opening up the UV/Image editor and pasting a texture in. Past that... things get a little dense.
