I'm trying to make a Halo Machinima series and I'm looking at the biped tags and I saw the lost spartan biped. Can someone modify a halo map and add that biped tag and e-mail it to me?

My e-mail is nerdforchrist@yahoo.com

Also I messaged Jahrain, the creator of the biped, and I'm waiting for an answer.

And can you also use the Brand New Shiny Armor Update for Master Chief mod?

Why can't you just use the tags?

Because I don't know how to add a tag to a map and I don't have time to work on one because I'm in school.

Well you can learn. It's not that hard. I'm in school too and I've got time to work on Halo stuff. If you've got time to do machinima, then you've got time to learn how to do this stuff.

it took a whole 5-10 mins to help this person out.

i don't do emails but here is a small map with the lost spartan added.
http://www7.zippyshare.com/v/17725699/file.html

if you want it in a different map...
use hek+ http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=2289
open that click file open, choose your map from the maps folder.
extract the .scenario.
now open guerilla and click file then open, you should be in the tags folder.
open the globals folder, then open the globals.globals (make a backup of that incase you mess up).
scroll down to multiplayer information.
to the right of unit click on the ... in the new window navigate to the place you put the biped tag.
open it double click on the (for example: spartan2012.biped).
that's it added it will appear in the next map you make and any others you make after that.
go to tool type tool build-cache-file levels\folder name\.scenario name
for the map i left it was: tool build-cache-file levels\test\ratrace\ls_ratrace

Thanks dude. You actually made my life a lot easier. I originally thought I had to make a map from scratch because Halo maps said on the biped tag page, "These tags CANNOT be added to existing maps (*.map files) and are only used during the map creation process. Tags MUST be compiled into the maps during creation."

One question though, if a map contains other bipeds, can I still add more bipeds?

you can add any amount of bipeds to a map, obviously you can only be one character at a time
though. maybe add for example an elite or another spartan, this could be controlled by a freind who is on your team or the other team, then he can be used as part of your machinima.

yeah that info you read just means you have to edit the .scenario of the map then compile it into a .map.

you are welcome.

Which program of HEK do I use to extract the scenerio.? If it's Sapien then I have a problem. For some reason, when ever I click the tutorial scenerio., Sapien freezes my computer. Could that be because I have 28.7 GBs of space left on my hard drive?

you only need to look at the post again where i left the map with the tag added.
you use hek+ to extract the .scenario.
sapien can be slow loading up on some pc's but you don't use it to extract things with.
it is for adding and removing things from your .scenario.

Space left on your harddrive has nothing to affect the program that runs. What is your computer specs? Operating System? Additionally, if you have two cores on your processor or more, when you open sapien, use task manager to set Sapien to use only 1 core (set to 1 affinity).

Thank you Ally and XlzQwerty1. I'll try that.

As for my specs, I don't know. I'm not that really good with the inner guts of a computer. I use Windows XP though. Would I have to open up my computer in order to find out what processors I have?

One question, whenever I open tool, it automatically closes. How do I prevent it?

Are you using tool.exe in the HCE directory?

Copy command prompt from system32 and paste it into the HCE directory. Open THAT and then you can type in your commands.

E: And to find out computer specs you can use dxdiag.
