'Your' map? You don't own a map. The map owns you.

On a serious note, some very good work you've done there. I can definitely see The Great Journey in there; that was obviously your inspiration. Yet, it isn't so alike to be called a clone; it looks like it might be balanced. I await more documentation of this.

The map looks decent enough. It does fit in visually with the stock CE maps, which I like. However the Halo 3 vehicles just look weird and out of place on a map like this using Halo 1 bitmaps. That's not really a complaint against your map, just the Halo 3 ports in general.

I think the Halo 3 vehicles fit in fine. The one complaint I have are the shades- they just aren't the right shade.(Horrible Pun)

At the moment the lights in your map are not natural colours.

So tell him how it can be improved and why its bad, other than just yelling at him and telling him it is.

It really isnt that bad. What he needs to do is edit the values for his red and blue lights, they are too intense at the moment. Once those are toned down he can also attempt to add in some variations of each color so it isnt just one color all throughout. Lastly he could also attempt to modify the sky's settings for a more appealing look outdoors and ambient lighting. He should also make sure that he is running lightmaps at full quality as well, as that could also be the problem with the lighting at the moment.

I agree with Anonymous, though i agree with Higuy in that you should tell him how to improve it.

one thing i would like to point out is the difference in shading for Vehicles and the BSP, because they're so different it looks out of place.

I would suggest using stock vehicles or improve the shaders on the BSP considerably. If all else fails, let someone trustworthy do the shaders for you and give credit.

You dont need to do the high quality lightmaps tutorial.
Just lower the power of the lights .

Don't NEED to but it's not that hard and will make it look MUCH better. The lighting is REALLY bad, for example the cave/indent in the cliff where the turret is looks flat, there are no decent shadows...

Why dismiss doing something which will improve the map... only reason I can think of is laziness and arrogance.

You dont need to becuase Halo's lightmaps generally produce pretty nice stuff if you have time and patience to figure out how to do it correctly. The lighting for max can sometimes cause alot of errors and takes quite a bit of time to set up. It's not a normal way of doing things and shouldn't be forced down a new members throat to learn if he cant get decent results of the basics yet.

Apart from me scolding the resident idiot/dumbo/troll/fail/hater/spammer?/rager/idiot again, I would say that apart from everything that has been called out, maybe you could have a bit more variation in the designs of the bases? Unless this if the final version, maybe adding different cover, varied vehicles, different bsp maybe would spice it up and make it a it less repetive.

Thats just my opinion, of course.
