Try to focus on the terrain itself too, I say this because I thought your last map could have used a bit more in the "wavy terrain with natural slopes" department :)
Cool textures btw

I don't know why, it just feels weird. Perhaps it's just me, and the unwrap looks amazing, don't doubt that, but to me, it seems like it could have a bit..... more. TBH i feel the same way, it's just that i didn't want to use the same forest concept that i used in my previous map, so i used this, but yeah i will change it BUT... i want some ppl to tell me which one i use: forest jungle snowy blood gulch like combination of some of them let me know guys oh and maybe you mean the texture not the arid environment but well, believe me, it's not easy to put a lot of details in ONE texture even if it's big, that's the only problem i have when i use uvw unwrap, maybe i'll have no choice but to stick to the classic uvw mapping@Lodex: Yeah you're right, in fact i'll add more details to the terrain as well, i'm still far from being done with the bsp, everything and i mean it EVERYTHING need improvement ;-) Edited by ChBgt909 on May 8, 2012 at 03:13 PM

you could make it as a weather generator, such as half of the map is snowy and it blends to the other half being a forest, that would definitely make for a unique map.

It's usually the forerunner structures in snowy areas or lush beautiful landscape with green.

Sandbox and Sandtrap structures are not related to these forerunner structures that are shining grey and silver. I don't recall any forerunner structures in extinction.
Tempest had light yellow-brown colors for the ground along with grey rocks and green trees.
Epitaph is an indoor forerunner structure based on a desert location, however you cannot actually see the exterior of the structure from afar.

thanks for the tutorial, but i think ill stick to blenders texture painting. just grab some textures make a uv map then paint the image all in blender. plus i only have paint .net and i really haven't bothered to try to learn how to use it.:P
also you should use the stock ce weapons with some open-sauce thrown in. Edited by killzone64 on May 10, 2012 at 11:06 PM
