The longsword normally flies at a painfully slow pace, and just editing the maximum forward speed field doesn't help. Is there anything else I can do to make it fly faster without sacrificing a lot of maneuverability?

Modifying the acceleration values would also make the speed increase more noticeable.

Simple
1# add longsword to map
2# download HHT HMT halo map version converter(HMVC)
3# choose map convert it go to HMT/HHT then go to vehicle longsword then change the acceleration values on it save convert it back play tweak if not good enough then your done

Nope. How the heck is that simple? Go into guerilla, open up the vehicle tag, increase acceleration values and increase the maximum speed values. Compile, done. You've just saved 15 minutes.
