So I did this thing, and it got me wondering about something.

While its an easy thing to make gun poses and whatnot, actually making compositions and general poses is something that's not innately easy to do. for things such as swords or something of similar, you'd have a much harder time knowing what motions flow properly while holding something like that. Along with that, some other motions that are non-object-based (such as ledge jumping or vaulting) have more intricate but simplistic motions that are hard to understand.

skipping all the semi-profound stuff, my main thing I'm wondering about is this: How many of you would actually like some reference material for these sort of poses and motions? I personally have only done a few of these akward shots from time to time and would like a chance to learn. So that being said, would anybody have suggestions for poses to make that would be hard to visualize offhand?

preeeeeeeeeeeeeetty sure I sent you the model through Kenny. If he didn't give you it then meh.

On a sidenote, though. I've pretty much given up doing anything serious for CE in terms of putting stuff ingame. I'd do pet projects sure but I think i'll just go, round up my tags, put out a big release and just call it there while I focus on getting my animating and rigging skills up to par

I mean I'm still around, but im probably not going to be committing time to big projects anytime soon.

Though, I had a thing I wanted to do and Jesse said he might help me out with it

yeah, I never got wind of it. I might ask him

if you'd like to do one of those big release archives of your stuff, which seems to be a popular thing lately, I think that'd be a good idea. just for us who still meddle around in the game, that way none of it would've went to waste aside from building your own experience/portfolio

i've personally just been looking through my tags folder and looking to see whats mine, what isn't, and what I could simply get rid of and not worry about. Most of the SDSMT stuff I have is pretty cool admittedly but a lot of it is unfinished because I was more trying to rush everything so that Flame would stop complaining about me taking forever with his animations. Some weapons atleast look really nice, but aren't very balanced in terms of overall gameplay.

So if I do make a big release, this is what i'll be likely to include. If anybody has specific requests let me know

From SDSMT
- AA12
- ACR-W
- AK74
- Halo 1 Assault Rifle Reanimated (1/10 quality really, clipping errywhar)
- AR-41 Prototype Marksman Rifle
- AS-50
- CM901 Animations with raw data (couldn't get the polycount low enough for CE)
- WM Clan's D-MAG SMG (Courtesy of Advancebo and E3p0)
- Energy Sword Animations
- EX 41 Grenade Launcher (Kinda buggy)
- Glock 17
- Gravity Hammer Animations
- ImBrokeRU's Halo Reach Styled Gauss Rifle w/ alt animations and sounds
- Kimber Desert Warrior (Probably my favorite animation set out of them all)
- KSG-12 Shotgun (not very finished)

- Modern Warfare 2 Snowmobile (no Glass, need to fix that)
- "Vault" (Basically a small cube you place on surfaces so that your player could vault over them. Scripts required)

- String List that names every weapon with their full name (Ma5C Assault Rifle, M6D Magnum, etc)

- All of The Crysis 2 Soundtrack for some reason
- Old Forerunner Communication Outpost Tags
- A bunch of Signs
- Really old ODST Tags (made after Daniloc gave me the rips with the terribad rig, this one features at the very least proper weighting and not plastic shaders. Also fakebump version)
- Halo 2 forerunner textures including with H2EK
- A halo 3 Cubemap I really liked
- a version of my old logo which I hid in maps
- Silencers, shiny as hell silencers
- Actor Variants for the aforementioned ODSTs

- "Dreamtrap" (A Indoor Forerunner level with several winding paths, i'll release the original version at some point soon)
- "Gun Range" (Basically a simple testing zone for weapons, though my models don't seem to like me very much)
- "Project JAKOB" (A small mini campaign mission I made with Hr3shy out of boredom)

Note that all of these weapons have iron sights

Just as a general note, Blood Creek is a huge map with a lot of stuff planned in it that would make sense for a standalone game that isn't halo. Rambo was too overzealous and wanted to work in CE for it, which wasn't the smartest idea except for having a working base.

And i'll look to see if I can find max files for these as well

some of that stuff i ripped from christmas never ended a while ago lol

when extracted, though, all of the markers in the effects screw up and you had a funny thing going on with your sound files for the weapons.

don't be alarmed or concerned either. i haven't distributed them or anything. just messed around with them a little bit on my own. you're a killer animator, but, like you said, some of the stuff still needs some work

also, i don't see a kalashnikov-based weapon in that list. i am disappointed :(

please god do a kalashnikov gun. for the love of mercy, i want a good one and there just aren't any

I think the "AC74" he has listed is supposed to be "AK74".

That's all fine and good if you're not a fan of the AK group, just sucks no good ones exist. At this point though I'm all excited to see all these weapons firsthand, and looking at that list of assets just makes the prospect of a release just that more desirable. I've needed a good candidate for an MA3A/HMG-38/confetti-maker black market gun that would fit snugly into the halo archetype, and some of these weapon concepts of yours seem like some pretty ideal fits.

gonna be posting stuff here. I finally most of the stuff compiled but holy hell its not fun having to go through my bagillion folders of stuff to find all of my work

also the folder in total is roughly 6GB with all the compressed folders. Uncompressed is probably a significant amount more (I had terrible organization and did compression-caption a lot)
