..If you provide me a model I may try my hand at making it a vehicle. That doesn't seem particularly too hard

Depending on what is meant by quality, could procure the one from BF2. With a little imagination I could maybe get from BFBC2. Or BF3 if it has em. Unlikely to get that though.

That'd be awfully cool to see. In a little bit, I'll see about finding a model somewhere, and I can whip up some multipurpose maps and all that jazz for the textures.

Are you at all familiar with setting up the ~blur permutations in the collision and shader models for vehicles, in order to achieve rotor blur, like with Altis's falcons from bigass? If so, that would be sick to see. If not though, no big deal.

EDIT: @skid, I was actually thinking about the Vietnamese Mi-8/Mi-17 from the end of Half-Life ep. 2, but I myself am not too familiar with extracting stuff from source games, and I don't have SFM. I thought I'd just find one on T3DM and use that, but if you could get one from BF2+, that'd be great.

I actually have a bit of experience ripping from source games (I actually ripped stuff from Vindictus and Garry's Mod multiple times, cuz hey why the hell not?

Anyways, skid sent me some chopper last night, i'll see what can be done.

I actually sent R93 the Mi-28 Havoc. I can send him the Mi-17 later though. Those are BF2 models, but I can see if I can get the BF3 ones out.

Sounds good. BF2's a great place to seek out content. To clarify what I meant by quality, I didn't mean so much "visual" quality, because I really dig that old, super low-poly, simple look of older games and their models, but rather a tag that actually functions properly and makes use of as much potential as possible. For example, rotor blur, sound effects, properly set up function blocks, all that jazz.

All opinions, personal taste, and standpoints aside: No, I don't speak Russian, and I'm not so much of a slavaboo, but I just have a soft spot for inexpensive, simplistic, mass-produced and effective tools that give a truly "expendable" vibe while still maintaining functionality, especially in the case of military hardware, and it just so happens that much of the Russian military hardware throughout history specializes in that area. That's why I would rather have an Mi-8 (since it is the most-produced rotorcraft in the world), or an Mi-24, since they're so iconic and can still serve in the "multi-purpose" category, due to the fact that it can be both a small troop transport for 8, and function as an attack helicopter simultaneously, while the Mi-28 is purely an attack/gunship which lacks any capacity for troop transport.

On the other hand, if you had brought up the Mi-48 Hornet, I would not hesitate to agree with your standpoint, since it's virtually a combination of all thereof, with a little mix of Kamov in the coaxial rotor. :)

That think doesn't look like an air to surface missile... Anyway, it didn't cross my radar, as I have never heard of an Mi-48, am inclined to assume its not real.

It is, in fact, not real. It's featured in Arma 3.

It carries two pods of unguided Skyfire HE missiles, each pod containing 19. There are also two cowlings mounted on each of the hardpoints that carry 4 Skalpel anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) each. So, ideally, the aircraft is a gunship whose focus is to primarily engage ground forces with heavy ASM payloads, and a big 30mm auto cannon that shoots both HE and armor-piercing discarding-sabot (APDS) rounds.

Oh, what a times. I remember having this vehicle a while ago, but it was never finished by us. Now, with your new textures, I can make better shaders and, maybe, finish this vehicle once for all. Ignore the shaders and other issues, because I don't touch this thing since 2013...

I had a bit of issues setting up the materials at first because when I looked at it, I was confused at how they were set up. This was the only covenant thing that had a mask to separate the shell and inner metal parts. I supposed 343i might have been planning on making some sort of new masking system for normal or something.

But to answer your question, once I looked through the channels of the control, it only took me maybe 20 or so minutes? It wasn't particularly long since I had figured out the basis of control maps at that point

Out of curiosity, since which Halo game does the Revenant have a man-controlled turret?

It was a cut vehicle from Halo 4. It's in the tag files of one of the maps. However it is incomplete as seen in the above pictures.

I got saw something about people making the pod-racing map in Halo 5's forge, and then used that as inspiration to make this.

Now somebody get working pod racers for CE.

So, Dreamtrap got released in its two variants today: Modern and Classic. If you didn't get to see it at CE3, here's the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLPRfj968Gg

But, lets say you wanna download the maps? Don't worry, I've got you covered!
https://mega.nz/#!GMEw0BhZ!FNMH2PG3OZiS-npJhY8DPj9EiCYP_Du5kuLjesiPu1g

Now, as I mentioned at CE3, Dreamtrap was originally part of a 3 map pack, and was really different at the time. Sure this can mean a lot of mumbo jumbo or whatever but bottom line is, it underwent changes. Being said, for those of you who actually care enough for it, here's all the beta versions of dreamtrap up to the release.
https://mega.nz/#!DMVz2RaK!SRU20L_S5cYXqBZUNK2pYbwEMIJImN55rBF7qHoxkUY
Before you ask, ALL versions are unprotected, so if you want to go and rip anything from the maps, go ahead by all means. Just be sure to give Spartan DSMT Credit when using the tags.

Enjoy the maps and let me know what you think!
