Hello there everyone «MCЯPC» Masterchief (aka klasher1000) here with another question.

How do u put a map name in the bottom corner like in extinction?

Now dont be a troll and post random nonsense I do know it involves scripting, any help would be appreciated.

Signed your friend «MCЯPC» Masterchief

(also i would like to script this into the map.. not decal)

actually, the decal method is the right answer. that's how it's done in extinction. unless i'm very much mistaken, it's part of the hud. perhaps give that a crack?

I don't see how it could possibly be a decal at all. I'm pretty sure it's a cutscene title made with a string list editor program, then scripted in to play at the beginning of the map.

it would go away eventually, and there would be big black bars

Not necessarily. You could simply have the script that displays it set to continuous with no other function so it just keeps displaying it indefinitely. And the black bars are triggered through a different command entirely.

but if you go into extinction with OS and turn off the hud the text vanishes

That's because cutscene titles are part of the hud

oh...okay. perhaps i was mistaken.

either cutscene titles or a hud bitmap will do.

It is done with a script, a cutscene title (found at the bottom of the scenario tag), and an ingame_help_text.unicode_string_list

Just rip the scenario tag with HEK+ and look at it.

These are the scripts you need to activate the cutscene:

(cinematic_show_letterbox <boolean, set true or false) - sets or removes the letterbox bars (the black lines)

so @rerout a better method would be to have a startup script that turns cinematic_show_letterbox to true, then sleep for however long you need the black bars to stay on, then do cinematic_show_letterbox false

(cinematic_set_title <cutscene_title, reference to the name of the cutscene in the string_list tag>) - activates the chapter title
