I got a bug report from my mate Xander that, when you change to the Halo 4 pack in-game (well, not in the menu), then there's no sound to be heard. But when you switch to Halo 3 or Reach (also in-game):

[12:08:08] Xander: they keeped working like a charm

Not really sure what he means. I haven't encountered any such problem and can't think of any reason for the sound to stop working with the Halo 4 pack.

Replying here as well, so it doesn't look like I've ignored you:

There’s no need to change your init.txt. HAC will remember your preference if you use the console command.

Sorry for posting both places I wanted to post here only but I spaced out, another question do I need to make seperate folders for each pack? cause mine isn't loading.

Also can I put Optic load X in my init text?

No, they all go in the same folder. Just to clarify, do not extract the archives. Just put them in the 'packs' folder.

You probably could but it wasn't designed for that so I can't guarantee success (at best it'll cause it to load/unload/reload). As said, you can use optic load at the console and HAC will remember your preference to save you doing it again.

Thanks man, you don't have to answer on the other site. I'l make Spanish and English video tutorials on how to do those things after I get from work this afternoon. Make init text, install and such. Thanks man and sorry to bother you.

Don't worry about it, it's what I'm here for. ;)

I'll be pasting my answer on the other site too, just in case somebody else has a similar question. It's haloreach for the Reach pack. The name should match the archive name.

Well, when I tried to change the pack INGAME to halo4 (while playing in bloodgulch game to be precise) it did not play any medal sound. BUT,when i returned to h3/haloreach packs(ingame also) they did worked like a charm as usual.

The Halo 4 kill medals have no sound (they're obnoxious enough as it is but staying true to the game and all that). If you're talking about the spree medals, I have no explanation and would need to see a video.

You'll need to download the packs manually. They're too big to consider for inclusion and too small for a download system. ;)

I though that was because HAC2 didn't like 1.09 anymore

nope, started up on both ends of the addons, both work on their own, but not together

im a 1.09 user. well... until its confirmed that os and hac both are compatible on .10

gotcha, I checked it out in halo pc though, this looks great :)

now imagine this kind of stuff being used with multiplayer ai put into effect, killionaire for days

noticed a problem with hud color while messing around in pc, so im guessing this is also in ce, it resets sometimes in sp if you edit it in mp, and vice versa, or when you loop around on a single go in the past 5 minutes making you have to start all over with editing. bug maybe?

edit: tested it more the whole hud setup resets after leaving a game/map/mode, might need a fix

also the optic voiceover and medals don't work all the time, and sadly wont work for me when I host a server, lan or internet

assuming the new pack system can handle it, i'm planning on developing cod-style hitmarkers, complete with hit sounds that play based on damage, kill, and maybe headshot if possible

i worked with BTCC22, and developed a simple pack that brings back the missing player death voices.

So its just separate pack like halo3,halo4 and haloreach?

Yes.

The pack is streamlined specifically for the purpose of bringing back death voices.

I've discussed this with btcc22 over on Modacity and there's a possibility of allowing users to force load multiple packs at the same time sometime down the line. I've pushed the idea, because I feel it will be beneficial to allow users to mix and match packs, rather than only allowing one at a time. The downside is, there is always the possibility of conflicting packs, poorly made packs that will conflict with everything, and general user stupidity.

The purpose of optic is to bring Medals and Achievements into Halo, but with my stupid, fcked up crazy mind I know it's capable of far more than just that. Bringing back death voices was an attempt to do something outside of the box with the tools at my disposal. It's completely unrelated to medals, and I'd prefer users not have to sacrifice medals in order to tack on my new Optic functionality. And at the same time I'd rather not have to release 3 big-ass packs with the tiniest of changes made to each.

here's the TL;DR visual example of the benefit of loading multiple packs.

see this thread.

I modded my Halo 4 optic pack so it has deathsounds in it. Funny thing is when you kill yourself it says suicide and then the deathnoise comes (I will probably have to move something in the script), it gives a pretty funny effect.

(If you want, I can send it to you.)

You think it's possible for Optic to work with AI? I like the feeling of getting multikills and sutch in campaign...I'm probably the only one who'd like this....I'd like it because of Firefight Descent/other Firefight single player maps.
