Someone wireshark this, and get some packet captures.

If nothing else, maybe down the line someone can figure out how to throw up a private server.

The reason why 343 is shutting down the servers not cheating but because of low popularity and because of that, many players complained that they can't sign in to live

it cost them $ having those servers up its really not worth paying to keep them up when there is only 20 players on.

They do not pay for the servers. The servers are powered by donations from the various H2V communities and clans, please do a little research before misinforming others.

Anyways, GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
H2V support has been extended to June 2013!

PC gamers have been asking for a Halo 3 PC since at least 2007; thats six years now. Bringing Halo 3 to PC would take minimal effort, but Microsoft has chosen to throw PC gamers under the proverbial bus that is Xbox.

Exactly like Kills said. Microsoft knows damn well that releasing Halo 3 PC would kill a lot of sales towards it's next gen system as well as Live and 360 sales. Minimal effort is putting it lightly though, as all the spit out assets are directly and foremost compatible with PC platforms. It isn't until they finalize the command compilers that the assets and formats really change hands.

Same goes with the want of a H2 HD remake. By releasing a game like that, Microsoft would kill any future Halo titles. Who would in their right mind want to go from H2 to what we got in H4?
