I am currently working on a custom HUD, and I want to add a compass to it. The idea is to have a compass at the top of the screen that shows what way you are facing, and will look something like this: ||||N||||
I need it scroll left and right as you look around. Does anyone know how to do this?

I remember seeing same thread very long time ago... I don't think it would be possible. Maybe if it was a part of 1st person weapon? Idk

Surely there is some way to do it without using the FP animations. That would be very inconveneint.

Multilex overlays or animated planes in front of the weapon would be the way to go.

What is a "Multilex" overlay?

The almost unknown section of the weapon HUD interface tag. It's what controls th sniper ticks.

I have seen the multitex overlays before, but I was not sure what they do. Looking at it again, I think it shows some promise. I will have to experiment. Does anyone already have some experience with these?

If you use MLOs, you can't bend the bitmap.

I don't know much of anything about huds, but what we are trying to accomplish is simply to have plain white tick marks (hopefully with labels for north, south, east ,and west) across the top of the screen that scroll in either direction as you turn. Like a sort of compass.

If ya'll know of a way do this please tell us.
