OK, so I got my copy of Halo 2 back in 09. I used up all of my activations. I cannot activate Halo 2 at all. Since Microsuck shut down the phone support back in October. I can't even call anyone up. Any ideas on how I can activate it? Again, it's a legit copy.

Why are you suddenly having an issue with the legitimacy of your games (2 & 1)?

I just want to play online. I HAD a copy of Halo 1, until I lost it. I Still have a physical copy of Halo 2 PC, just needs to get the activations reset.

I couldn't get h2v to activate when i moved everything onto my new desktop, only thing i found to work was using the mf.dll, which was originally made to get h2 to work on xp i believe.

Really? Can you play it online? That is something I want to try out again. Haven't played H2 MP in quite some time.

Its included in this release, look in the MOD folder then under the DLL folder.

Will it work under Win 8? I heard it didn't work properly.

I run H2V on Win8, when I first installed it there was a message that it would not work but its works just fine.

If you mean MF.dll on Win8, I dunno, should work.

It looks like you need help. Are there any errors when you try to activate?

Only error I get is that my key has been used up. I have to use another key.

That's weird. I can use my key an infinite amount of times. Even for other Xbox Live accounts!

The limit on your activations is supposedly tied into some hardware changes, so if you upgraded the OS that might not count against the limit but if you installed it on a separate machine, or upgraded your motherboard, or put it on a friend's computer that would count. Thats what I've heard anyway, but for me I've had to install it so many times on so many different systems and many many hardware changes that I've lost count so every-time I install it I think my limit will be up.

That .DLL mentioned above should allow you to play, not sure they will be activating the game at all seeing as its supposed to be shutting down in June.

eh I installed Halo 2 a couple of times. Then went and upgraded my PC a bit. I just want to play the full Halo 2 campaign for a while. Might get a crap box and get Halo 2 through Reach though. IDK

Because we (the H2PC community) got them to extend it for another year. I'm on right now.

Please disregard this message, the method by which to obtain free legal cd keys for Halo 2 no longer works properly. Will update post if it becomes available again.
