Well...I decided to start playing this game again as I missed having fun with modding the game, and I was rather surprised that after...9 years? that the community is still active, if barely.
So, I have a bit of a problem(s), my disk is faulty (even though it's been left untouched in a disk case for several months), I can not find the game box to get my activation key, my guess is my parents have taken it to ye ol' dumping grounds and I have gotten a entirely new computer so I can not use Ghosts code recovery app.

So, is there any chance that I might be able to install this game again?

Edit: Forgot about the technical discussion thread...has been a while.
Edit2: I found a download for the game...it just seems...too easy. Honestly I didn't know what to expect from this thread, feel free to ignore it.

I don't think you can get one that guaranteed to be unused for a dirt cheap price.

I don't know. I bought an unused license of Gta SA for 4.99 on amazon once and those are higher in demand. I also got a license for HCE a while back because my other copy got messed up. If you're on buying the license, it's rather cheap

I took the safer route and bought a new copy.

You have the disk but it won't read. Are you sure the CD is really that scratched?
-Try fixing the disk. There are ways to physically correct scratched disks.
You don't have the CD key written down anywhere.
-Do you have it installed already? There is a way to recover the CD key if you have the game legitimately installed on PC.

If you really let both of these things happen to you, you honestly deserve whatever problems you're encountering.

You don't need the disk to install and play Halo Custom Edition anymore. Download CE from Halomaps and, enter activation key, and once it's done installing run the update. The only problem is the activation key, which all I can suggest is buy a new copy of Halo PC.

Too bad the CD key recovery tool isn't going to work unless you had some means to extract the registry or even boot up using your old drive
