Howdy, ev'ryone! Hope this question hasn't been asked already, but I did an awful lot of digging through these forums and couldn't find anything quite like this.

I have a powerful nVidia video driver which should be more than powerful enough to run Halo Custom Edition, but it's not a built-in motherboard driver.
My computer's motherboard doesn't even have a video driver, really.

Halo CE doesn't seem to be recognizing the presence of my video card. Can anyone tell me how I can, in turn, manually tell the game what video card to run off of? I've been missing Halo Custom Edition for a couple years now...

Have you tried downloading the latest Nicosia drivers off their website? I haven't had any issues with my own 'powerful' graphics card.

Right click on the Halo CE shortcut and see if it has an option to run with "Graphics Processor" if so, click it.

Eh, thanks for trying to help, but I'm not seeing anything.
It also looks as though I didn't search quite hard enough...
This is the exact problem I have.

Specs not supported by Custom Edition, apparently. I'll just have to wait and hope that the next Custom Edition update supports the latest video drivers.

There won't be a "next Custom Edition update"...

Shucks. I guess that's all for me, then. x3 It was fun while it lasted.

I suppose there weren't too many roleplayers around on this game anyways...

I wonder if CE's 10th anniversary will be another boring day...

nVidia's new drivers seem to be just plain 'off' in terms of application-controlled and override-application-settings

So for antialiasing: instead of trying to force it to be off all of the time, just set it to application-controlled and see if that works

I know MS don't care about this game anymore... but do you imagine an update where they add support for MP campaing? Holy [filter], Batman.

Yes, stupid dreams...

What's wrong with forge? It prevents microsoft's servers from being flooded with tons of rips and boxmaps

How do I go about changing that, Orange Juice?

Haven't used an nVidia card in years, but if it still has "3D application settings" menu in the control panel, there'll be an option for antialiasing with those options

Halo Custom Edition uses a shader system that bypasses direct3D and cannot be used with (legitimate)antialiasing << that's why using it gives you a blank screen

If that does turn out to be your problem.

Can't seem to find that function, but then again, Windows 7 doesn't seem to have a very detailed control panel. Any other ideas for where I could change it?

add me to xfire, i have a nvidia card. xfire: slayermaster93

I can see what the issue is, it might not even be your card, it could be your screen res. My new laptop used to hate CE till i installed open sauce so Halo could actually see my pc Res.

I had this exact problem at one point.

I solved it by disabling all custom settings in my graphics card manager, (saying let software decide)
And by going into the halo CE shortcut and disabling visual themes, running compatibility, etc.

I'm no longer on Xfire. I've tried it twice and the forums/members continue to scare me off...
