So if you guys downloaded the huge ZTeam tagpack that was released a while ago, you might notice that a lot of the Reach weapons in it don't have proper weapon tags, just the .gbxmodel and .bitmaps. Example? The Reach PR. So, after a lot of time shadering, tagmaking, sound compiling etc. I got their Reach PR working in-game:

Because I'm a terrible animator, I just left it with the H3 FP anims.
So what do you guys think? How did I do?

That looks excellent!, Did you use the Reach particle effects for firing as well? I would definitely like to see a test map with this, and possibly other Reach weapons. Would be fun to mess around with.

I actually just used Zteam's H3 PR effects, but currently I am actually working on an actual Reach particle effect for it. And sure, I'll release a tagset soon, you'll need the Zteam tagpack though. My tagpack will have things like OS shaders and "completed" Reach weapons like the one here.

I'm actually working on the Reach Plasma Pistol this very second, and I'll probably have the vid up in just a bit.

I'm thinking of maybe using CMT's FP anims, or maybe at least the "ready" one where he thumbs the holo-button-nipple-glowing thing... wonder what that thing does anyway? lol

For some reason, the firing sounds are also kinda quiet, I'll turn up their gain in Guerilla... but they are all the Reach sounds, I Adjutant'd them.

Zteam actually does have an in-game-working Fuel Rod cannon in their tagpack, so I'm just gonna drizzle some of my special sauce on it....

I mean Open Sauce, you pervs!

the effects need some work, especially that charge animation. Not bad though :)

It seems to me it's to "power up" the plasma pistol. But I would agree with using those animations. Lag's animations have a special place in my heart when it comes to Halo.

Thank you, BobbleHob, and I will indeed work on the effects. I'm just a bit of a newb when it comes to them, but I'm learning.

Because of a rather embarrassing issue with the fuel rod (little squares all over when I apply the normal map) I'm gonna gently brush it aside and work on it later (picks it up and roughly throws it into the trash can with a loud clang), and I'm gonna try the Splazer instead.

Ill be more than willing to help you out if you need questions answered or ideas. I know a fair bit about CE particles. Also, check out some of the effects on the CMT plasma pistol, Ifafudafi is an effects god xD

Nooo! Don't give up on the Fuel Rod! Its such an awesome looking weapon in reach :(

I am releasing the "finished" PR and PP for all to use!

just extract it to your tags folder and tell it overwrite it when it asks you to, the only thing it's overwriting are the shaders and whatnot.
remember two things:
1. They use OpenSauce for the shaders
2. You WILL need the Zteam tagpack found here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6654

I can't wait to see what people do with it, whether it be effects or animations or HUD or anything!

I don't know if that is the truth about CMT ripping but I've did seen a lot spamming post about cmt rips lol.

But ripping is not bad really as long they give credits to bungie.

All I'm really doing is taking people's tags and making them look nice :3
And I will indeed release my modified shaders and whatnot, just give me a while to get them all organized. My tags folder is a mess!

your sounds don't sounds like reach how r you putting sounds in halo ce you may be doing something odd a bit or so that what I see
zteam did not rips tha did port it

The sounds are taken from Reach using Adjutant. Perhaps your PC's audio is off, because it doesn't get more accurate than ripped :S

I use Adjutant2 a bit on sounds that all I need it for so I get them in game tha don't sound like yours odd yes so than I did a rip of the sounds form a reach map you use and don't sound the same
I get hd sounds in halo ce and I m updating a map so I no how it works now

Gotta love that Sniper sound, but the DMR needs some work imo. Why don't you try to mix the HR and the H4 sounds and see how they sound together?
