I was requested to make slightly better "Flame Scenery Emitter Tags", than gearboxes original for a Firefight map.

Me Yoda & the requestee tossed some idea's around and came up with scraps, (My crappy sprites :D)

So I spent a day doing some Hoga. (Halo version of Yoga)

Grabbed a little better stock footage from the WWW. And came up with this.

The tags are completely custom, use 32 bit sprite textures. But animate really well!

Please, Spanish people give me credit if you use them in your maps for christ sake or just stop modding!

The whole modding community is a give and take relationship, some people give, others take and in return give back.

I have been on the receiving end of spanish thieves

Thus continues the cycle of a healthy modding community.

Enough ranting:

Thanks to: Yoda > Testing Help & other worthy appraisals.

The dude who requested them > For.....requesting them & being patient.

IFAFUDAFI, MASTERZ1337, Teh lag > Various things, too many to mention.

Patxi, Altis, Jesse, Mootjuh, Waffles, BKTiel, Waffles, Spartan314, and various others to which at this moment there names escape me > Inspiration & help with other things.

BTW if you have anything to request i'd be happy to lend a poignant ear.

Very nice looking. Any chance you could put this into the flamethrower as well?

I did the Forge wall that you asked me to:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/etn5m968ncdbrg2/forgewallarena.rar

Wish I could have done a better job with the shaders, you might wanna change the cubemap since is garbage and use bumpmaps instead of multipurpose, they look better. :/

Ah yes!

Sorry I forgot your hmaps account :D

I know what you guys are thinking, AJ helping out a latino. WTF?

But there are good latino mappers, amongst the sea of bad.

@MEGASEAN: CMT? That would be my dream however, as I am sure Masterz would agree, cutting in a new member half way through a project would be very stressfull. Seeing as I have missed out on alot e.t.c

I'll put forth my cv once SPV4 is announced.

AJ's cv.

I made a tag that people like.

Isxz is a really cool dude, I also have helped him. It's sad hes in the same team as JDK and Johnlex, those guys just rip balls and then put the ripped balls in a ripped bsp.

I don't really want to leak anything about there project.

But it seems Isxz is being pushed and pulled in several places, which makes me sad :(
If you can't grow under the shadow of another, jump under patxi's wing :D

OH and that reminds me, I tried to make a tutorial today. (66 minutes long......... >_< )

I have several wedding functions to attend this week, so I am going to try and reschedule another tut.

In the meanwhile, to keep you guys hooked, here are some freebies.

____________________________________________________________________________

So from this video:

I took several stills, which look something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYez92O3XSg

Now in photoshop, I essentially just took a very tiny flame from the top of the fire. (For best results try using flames which are near or at the end of there life) Masked them off from the rest of the image then upped the feather amount from the mask (so they wouldn't appear so sharp)

And after that just isolate your selection, removing any other unnecessary portions, and scale your textures down into a compatible sprite and compile.

The exact sprite I used looked like this:

Before I go, I didn't mention the smoke I used. (These things easily smoke the mind)

But here is the sprite.(relatively the same method I used with the fire video was applied here)

Anyway I made 2 tut's on how you can achieve something similar to what I made.

Part 1: (Texture creation, sprite organisation)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjjZg0bAoKE&feature=youtu.be

Part 2: (How to be like jesse. :D Nah organising work flow, tag work e.t.c)

Please keep bumping!

Eventually we are going to need someone to do all our flood and sentinel effects, in about 4-6 months.
