I want to make a tutorial for the community. But I want to know what you guys want. Most of you know that I can model and UV. But I'm curious if anyone needs any tips or help with anything. Please let me know.

Making a model thats actually a decent model. A lot of the model tutorials around here are "make a box and apply random modifiers until you get something good" or "make a box and TESSALLLATTEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"

Oh! Covenant!!!! That would be incredibly useful to me. Also forerunner but I kinda can get something of that down.

^ this.

Some advanced UV unwrap techniques, such as how unfold or flatten while maintaining scale, "seamless" wrapping (welding, unfolding, etc), UV-ing uneven terrain, stuff like that.

I believe you made a previous tutorial on youtube?

Modelling that epic forerunner base, well I did it.

But maybe you could tie that in with uv'ing. Cus I need to know that as well.

And plse use a decent mic, and capture program, if you need help with both pm me.

I used Camtasia on all my tutorials. Been using since 2006, never have found something better.

I record all of my tutorials with FRAPS. They look really good and there isn't any mouse lag at all.

Look I recorded a tutorial with 3ds max using Fraps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4cYQFW4Pxw. It also works great with Sapien https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWtwOHCB23Q

Good morning everyone (10am Alaska time). I see that some of you want to learn some unwrapping techniques. So I'll put together a video based on unwrapping forerunner structures.

Dratt, I'll look into covenant, but it will take a little bit to get use to.

As for the weather particle system, unfortunately I'm not a pro with the tag set. I can only help with the 3ds max and Photoshop tasks.

Oh yes, and I'll be using Camtasia and my Samsung microphone for recording. It won't be a silent film.

Not everyone rocks, an pentagon class processor.

That is why camtasia is better.

It provides, editing. Mic capture, web cam capture all the bits and bobs u need to make an epic tut.

Hey guys! I have the first part of the tutorial created. It goes over the basics, that way it can help some of the new mappers. It's available in 1080p, and the audio seems good.

I do notice the sound of my computer fan and mouse clicking in the background. I'll do my best to fix those problems in the next video.

The techniques and concepts I used can still be incorporated into 3ds max 8.

I'm a little bit busy with a multiplayer level I'm working on. But I should have pt.3 up soon. I'm going to be modeling a basic forerunner base, and then apply the texturing techniques that I covered in parts 1 and 2.

Awesome.

Make sure you have your coffee though, before you start.
