The master chief collection WILL make it to PC soon people. As long as they finish the XBox One version, I am sure they will port it to PC. Microsoft needs money, and we can give it to em! And they know it!

I'm still 99.9% sure the will. I mean it is their most anticipated Xbox exclusive. I would like it for PC though.

That some nice speculation there. But even if they released it on pc, I pretty much doubt it that we wil ever get some sort of HEK for the game.

The fact that they have started to at least start "considering" is a step forward I guess, but it's what it is. A consideration. I wouldn't hold my breath.

"We’re listening to the PC fans, but right now this is all focused on Xbox One.”

I don't think that's confirmation of anything. That's damage control, nothing more.

Useless article, them saying they're "considering it" means nothing. Bungie and Microsoft definitely "considered" bringing the other games to PC, it's part of the planning process: What platforms will we definitely release this on, which ones maybe?

I don't see Halo 5 coming to PC for a long while though, maybe 1.5 years after release, because right now they NEED Halo 5 as their Xbox One exclusive so that people will buy the console. Myself included in this, actually (and for Witcher 3, and no I will not build a $700 computer to play that so don't even start the argument).

But perhaps once they have console shipments moving, they would port to PC to extend the basis as they'll probably have gathered most of the Halo fans onto their console already.

That isn't proof. Thats them trying to avoid saying they hate PC gamers.

I've made a video explaining this, every single detail of this rumours (It's in spanish, I can't post it here)

The sentence from Bonnie Ross "We're listening to PC Fans" she didn't mean about H5, she was talking about the Master Chief Collection. And it's highly probable that this collection will come to PC, but not Halo 5... I don't think 343 would release H5 for PC.

However, in case the MCC don't comes to PC it seems PCs can emulate Xbox One and PS4 due to the architecture they have (It's similar from a PC) Xbox 360 and PS3 couldn't be emulated because their architecture is very different from PCs.

to me, if there's a legitimate pc port, i feel it should be payed for, but if it's console exclusive, then absolutely rip the s't out of it.

also, dratt is right

There wont be a way to stop it. Infact, the pc architecture only makes it worse for them

Halo only has 2 games for pc (excluding halo 2 vista) and this sucks really halo for pc isn't getting no love at all plus the xbox 360 has served it's purpose, so 343 will be like "On to the Xbox One".

The Master Chief Collection for PC would be an awesome way to get people without Xbox's invested in the universe... and invested in buying an Xbox One.

to be brutally honest the only reason halo custom edition has lasted this long on pc is because of the hek. microsoft ruined the functionality of the hek for halo 2 vista and mainly that is why it died off so quickly. if 343 was to release just halo 3, with a FULLY FUNCTIONING editing kit, they will definately find a huge fanbase waiting for them (and some more xbox sales as a result due to later games not being avaliable on pc). but if they don't then frankly those ports will sooner than later fall into the same sad state as halo 2 vista.

H2V had a number of issues. I think a straight port will happen, but we shot ourselves in the foot with constant ripping of other games content. A newer engine in this communities hands would be a nightmare, as people would just be porting the latest games content to it and giving PC gamers a reason not to buy an Xbox.

Ripping isnt the problem. You can rip from anything nowadays and next gens pc architecture will make that so much easier...

Oh I don't even want to begin with how bad h2v was.....

Ripping is going to happen in any game that gets popular. They know that. Even though we port the content of the later games into center it doesn't stop people from buying a 360 to play halo 3, or any of the other games in the series. It is purely upsetting to see Microsoft ignoring the pc for gaming. Many people in the higher ups of microsoft, including bill Gates himself, says selling off the Xbox division would be a smart move. Google it if you want.

Since the Xbox One runs on X86 Architecture they have no excuse now, and I know that they will probaby port the base game. But surely Microsoft realizes that the reason for halo ce being as popular as it is today is due to the hek. If they are worried about costs then tack it on as $20 dlc. As long as they don't force nanny mode like in h2v it will most likely keep the game alive for many, many years to come

halo ce, to me is the only popular halo pc game there is I mean the ideas for creating stuff feels endless I mean look at ce's multiplayer it's awsome unlike the later games and I kinda sad to see how h2 came out it looks like an unfinished beta it looked better in the e3 2003 demo, but h2 anniversary will be better and h2a multiplayer is only 6 maps will be remastered.

Game sale longevity is not in the interest of M$, and that is something you need to understand.
However, MONEY Is.

The fact that they can release games on an 2-3 year cycle and have people pay for their $60 game with season passes year after year is what they want.

Just look at the monoliths like Call of Duty, where they re-skin it and ship it. And what do the consumers do? Do they learn from their yearly mistakes? Nope. They chive out the 60 price tag over and over again and the Exects know they can get away with it.

Like this

The point is, the more games they can sell and continue to make games and sell and repeat such a cycle makes more money to giant studios like 343. Where as a smaller studio could benefit from long selling a handful of games.

And hey 343 is not Ubisoft or EA... Just keep realistic expectations...

Most gaming companies only care about the money as soon as the game comes out. I mean look at halo 4 it was crappy (a bit) but people still bought it.
