i havent heard anything from killa in a while. either he let it quietly die or he is busy buried in his work.

you can always try open carnage, a bunch of us went over there to avoid the mess this site has become. not sure if he posts updates on that forum though.

Considering you've been here longer than me I thought you would have realized that halomaps has always been this way.

OC has some interesting enough info worth mentioning and checking out, but it's soooo empty.

Claiming it as a alternative to hmf would be like abandoning the Maglite in favour of a jar full of glow bugs.

That's the case at least compared to this forum, exactly because it's everyone else's reason for not sticking around. However something worth noting is that OC's search rankings are far greater than that of the HaloMaps forum. The forum here is obviously the most prominent resource for content creators, but not for those outside of development, which is largely dominated by search.

Some Examples
Revolution
H3MT Foundry
Flare
Project Sector 09
Dreamweb

Additionally, we already have a large content-consumer presence as for more than a year now we've been the primary resource for server scripts.

For those interested, on his twitter it mentioned his hard drive failed.
He also mentioned he's "done posting at halomaps".

A few scrolls down.

Hopefully the project files aren't all gone.

Twitter?

Like any of us are important enough to follow each other.

Even if the project files aren't gone I doubt we'd get a release.

What does being important have to do with following people?

Why else would you "follow" someone?

Out of interest, which isn't directly correlated to a person's general status of "being important".

I'll follow people if they post a series of nice screenshots.

You know, this is probably all LegitGamerReview's fault, the fact that Killa doesn't want to post anymore on halomaps...

Then why not just regularly check into he/she's twitter feed every month or so?

Why take the time to first hit the "follow" icon and then repeatedly check back regularly for notifications and updates on the persons activity.

Because it is important to you.

Following someone is actually the lazy solution here. Purposely checking in on someone's feed requires more mental effort, thus implies that person being more important to you.

Nothing against the people here at halomaps, there is some decent people here. However the majority of you know the level of toxic this forum can reach now and again, so I haven't been on the site in a good while. If there is an update on the project I will be sure to post it here for you guys.

But right now I need help. As seen on twitter, I need a version of 3ds max that is compatible with windows 10 and HEK. (Preferably max 2010-2012) Even if anyone has max 8, I could probably set up a dual boot with windows 7.

Regarding the project, all files are safe and HEK and Open Sauce are installed and running on my PC, including the tags and map files for Halo: Composition. The only thing that really needs to be done is creating the remaining BSPs, which I need max for.

Just my personal opinion but the alpine mud box cliffs need re-doing. They don't match up to the rest of the awesomeness in the scene.

You uh, prob should have read the thing I linked.
Quote: So when it was decided that we would do a demo for CE3, it was only after I accepted the offer that I realized how much work truly needed to be accomplished by the deadline. Because of this, a lot of stuff was left unfinished or unpolished. The sky box was thrown together in a matter of hours so the background would not be empty nothingness, the bsp had to be completely textured and UV'ed in a matter of weeks, and a short, but compelling narrative had to be written out.

Mmhmm.

But they look almost exactly alike as the ones in the OP:

From my twitter when I posted that pic:

"Manged to get a ce3 prototype of 'Rebirth' running from 6/25/14. Crazy how many twists and turns the project has taken since then.."

Sorry for any confusion but that is not a recent build.
