Not slapping you down but when you embark on a project it's best to maybe message a few talented players for help and insist on your behalf they keep the project a secret.

Then once the map has been made and it's been tested and what have you release a thread about your project, lie and say it's still a wip then a week later release the map.

No drama.

Can people not embark on a project alone anymore? This is a WIP thread. It'll be done when I finish it. 2015 doesn't seem like a bad estimate. I'm not upset that this project took off, I just will reveal things at my own pace.

I'll do a project update by December.

Though I understand you might have wanted to get the project awareness for this as early as possible just so the community has something to look forward too.

Welp, things could go faster if Jesse hadn't died for like three months straight and after he finally reappeared then falling into a pattern of multiple weeks of appearing for a few days and going away for another two weeks or so, then the project could be a lot further along...

Don't be like that. I'm sure if you guys tried you guys could make it look about the same or better without too much visual lost. Maybe not lighting wise, or maybe physics and other stuff, but still pretty good. You guys are going to try to use OS to the fullest right? A-and I'm just going to shut up now because my comments are starting to sound nooby. : L

You are in denial if you believe a bunch of hobbyists can make a decade old engine perform like a modern game. As much as we try, it's not possible for CE >= H3

When I saw that trailer, I thought H3 had come too PC. I think they could make it. It seemed really good in the trailer.

How much worse is the Halo 2 vista hek? Maybe someone could try to do it for Halo 2 because it has rag dolls, gravlifts, duel wielding, multiplayer coop mod, and other things.

lol no, H2V HEK is terrible. AFAIK, it only lets you edit the BSP and textures.

It'll ruin the experience.

I keep everything in my own folders because everything else is just a mess. I probably have 800 different junk crap thigns in my tags\h3 folder. h3\objects\character or wait, maybe just h3\characters. repeat x200

I will take on 1 other person who wants to help port over BSP. Xfire me.

You must have experience working in 3ds Max and Adjutant. I will not be helping you port BSP besides helping with a few shaders. You must be able to rip from Adjutant, get ingame, and get selected instance in the BSP (mainly just rocks in the cliffside using the boolean union tool). I will give you a few instructions to follow. Beyond that, you will not have to worry about instances that will become scenery.

I'm a pretty mean optimizer, but I'm swamped lately with other projects.

If you encounter any difficulty regarding structure scenario collision compilation errors, pm me.

(Our time zones are poles apart to even contemplate an xfire convo)

Aww so no H3 weaps being implemented? Oh well, it's just a matter of personal preference but I wouldn't mind custom weapons either.

I guess this is redundant but if you were going to put the H3 weaps in were you going to use the H3:ODST weapon sounds? The MA5C sounds a lot better in that vs Halo 3 AR. In fact, quite a few of the guns (especially the Covenant Carbine) sound a lot more powerful, the human weapons seem to have an added bang of sorts to somewhat mimic real world gunshot noises.
