I've got some work done on the FP arms. I'm not gonna go with the GTA V models, they're a bit too much of a hassle to work with.

I created my own glove texture for this one.

Might go a little less than white on the fingernails in the specular or it will look like they've been clear coated :P

Sweet looking spec and normal maps though, nice job. I especially like the normal for the cloth of the fingerless gloves, does a good job portraying the fabric "texture"

I just finished the gas station light up board:

The gas station itself is nearly done, just needs some detail work (which this is a part of)

This'd probably be scenery, if only for changing numbers or destructible stuffs.
textures created by me.
for the most part.

Imported another one of my previously built buildings. Since I standardized the door sizes I had to adjust the framing on this one to fit the new doors, but it's all good now. I plan to import the buildings and some basic scenery first, then I'll work on adding the detail later so I can determine what can be BSP and what needs to be scenery.

I know others have dealt with this issue, but does anyone know why my Tool doesn't create new files? I'm compiling a new sniper rifle model, and tool seems to be working but when I look in my Tags directory I don't see the new file (Yes, I have the proper directories set).

I think that Windows 10 is creating a temporary file somewhere else or something, like it does with the newly compiled .map files.

It creates the .map files in:

"C:\Users\Jesse\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\maps"

But when I look for the tags folder (of which there is one in this directory as well) the new sniper model tag is not here.

So does anyone have a fix or workaround for this?

-snip-

When I had that issue, it was as simple as running Tool as admin. Worst-case scenario you'll have to move the tags manually.

Thanks. I managed to get it working through disabling UAC and some other stuff.

Now if only 3ds max 8 didn't crash when using the explorer arrow in file search dialog box that'd be cool too...

Hate to be a drag but I doubt it will ever work.

Have you tried any service packs? (if there are any available for your app version)

Last week it was $2.02 here in Indiana. Jumped up to $2.40 now. Makes me sad.

You can tweak how the virtual store directory behaves but tbh all I really do is set 2 links in my win explorer favourites list:

1 for the Halo root directory and the other for the virtual store directory.

You then just have to remind your self after editing or compiling a file to cut everything that has been moved into the virtual store directory back into the original directory.

aren't you british or something? and buy it by the liter? which is roughishly 1/4 gallon? meaning it'd be around $6.40/gal or so.

This is just to give a sign that I am not 'dead' in the modding sense of the word. Anyway, this pic is from a really old build, but my final results will look much better than this. You can tell that the buildings aren't really finished up, but eh.
