Anyone actually get this to work? Without hac.dll it says Error 1114, map caching failed, and with it my game just crashes to the desktop.

Did you guys do any other steps to get HAC and OS to play nicely?

lol I'm not going to downgrade to an old outdated OS just for a mod. Next you're gonna tell me to install xp

Seriously, there's really no way to get it to work?

HAC2 cause random crashes in my game (not a very often occurrence). I know this because my game never crashes without the loader.dll inside the controls folder.

That is a pretty strong claim to make seeing has hac works flawlessly on my machine.

Are you running any other 3rd party apps along side hac and halo?

I haven't checked to see if this works on my end, as I'm afraid it will conflict with my hitmarkers mod, which is running a modified hac2.dll

BTCC22 have you considered adding 3rd person/viewmodel support? I'd love to see these features

Maybe with some work someone would be able to force the biped to use a vehicle camera track. 3p would work flawlessly

Third person camera that works on higher than 30 fps would be cool.

if you're talking about the jittery movement, that's not the camera's fault. that's CE's fault for having 30fps tick rate

Btcc22: Would it be possible to push out the hac.dll fix to everyone? NeX's timer script (info here: http://opencarnage.net/index.php?/topic/5790-global-item-spawn-replacement-script/) has been released and it requires the fix in order for the timer to display correctly. In the meantime I've been handing it out to people that ask about it.

Or, ya know...just merge for an updated loader.dll, so it updates itself? I don't know if Hac2 still does that now though

At first I was surprised, but then I thought about it, and that isn't really all that inconceivable. Linux AMD build sans network card, I guess it's possible.

But what would you really do? Play Tux Kart all day?

I'm just here to let people know that HAC2 seems to have been moved to an IP address.

For those who need the OS-fix version since the original link is down:
Keep in mind it only works with Windows 7 at the moment as sadly it doesn't work well with Windows 8.x/10.

  • Minor bug fix for console text output

  • New command, redirect_kill_feed, will take the kill-feed out of the chat area and display the messages on the HUD, Mac/Xbox style.

  • Toggling sightjacking and multiteam vehicles on the server will now update HAC clients instantly, rather than only after a map change/new game

There is still work in the pipeline but it's a very slow pipe.

thanks, can I ask what work is in progress or planning to be added to the client?

also there is small bug where scope blur disabled and enabled are interchanged, i.e. when it's disabled it says in the console that it's enabled.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I don't want to talk too much about features in the pipeline until there's something that's close to release though.

It appears both links to the fix are down in this thread. Is there a current place I can still find it?

Is any progress still being made on a fix for Windows 10? My interest in HAC2 is actually just the ability to use a fullscreen borderless window. That way, Halo CE will be compatible with f.lux and players will be able to more comfortably play at night. All that I need from HAC2 is 1920x1080 resolution in windowed mode. I only play single-player, particularly SPV3, so I need Opensauce. Btcc, is there any more simple way add this resolution option into Halo or do I need to install the complete HAC2 whenever it becomes compatible with Opensauce? Thanks!
