^This is what I get when I try to launch the game with Opensauce.

Idk if having windows 10 has anything to do with this, but yea..

It does it with and without hac2. This error is dependent on if I have sauce or not.

Now what if I tell you I don't use the overlay function. And even when evolve is completely turned off it still doesn't work.

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Have you tried running it as admin?

Are you using some kind of d3d9.dll hook on your Halo CE installation?

No, and os is supposed to be compatible with those now as it uses dinput8 as a hook.

OS didn't work for him on Windows 7 either, also Reinstalling an entire OS rarely ever helps.

So apparently the shortcut I was using to try and launch Halo referred to a wrong install which did have hac2 while I was looking in the install it was supposed to which had everything fine and dandy.

Now if you're wondering how OS got into multiple installs. The Opensauce installer never works for me, so I just end up extracting the files and putting them in the right folders. Which is the same thing I had to do in Windows 7, which is why Sean misunderstood that OS never worked for me in win7, is because I told them the installer never worked without ever explaining them how I got OS to work.

Oh well, sadly you can't get os and hac2 to work in one install like you could in win7.

Does this mean I get a free slap Mike for using both HAC2 and OS at the same time card? :3

No.

If you're trying to load HAC2 with Open-Sauce on Windows 8.x/10. Then I get the right to slap you.

I found out the cause to this issue. The error appears when you try to run Halo CE at a resolution higher than 1280x1024. This is done through command lines on desktop shortcuts.

I don't like being part of the ressurecting a dead thread thing. But afaik the issue would have been that hac2 and opensauce were used together. This error happens when you try to run them together without opensauce's hud scaling off first.

The reason 1280x1024 works for you is because it is a 4:3 resolution, so the gametype icon is left unchanged.
