Since there isn't much I can discern from the screenshot, my only criticism at the moment is that the "Project:" prefix is overused. Everything seems to be "Project: ____". Just call it "Spearhead". If Spearhead is the name of some military operation being carried out by the UNSC in your game, you could even call it "Operation Spearhead".

Dratt sorta said it before saying that only the three major projects (Glassed, I01, Contingency) are invited. Though if you can get a huge following and a lot of progress, then maybe it might change his mind

You have literally nothing to show. That much is obvious. Why would it not be no? Unless you can make something really cool looking in next like half a year (not a lot of time), I would not get your hopes up.

Focus on making a cool project, have something really cool to show, and THEN show it. For example: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=37905 Thread is old, some pictures are now outdated, but it gives a good example on how to announce a project!

Step A: Say what your project is with a cool logo
Step B: Have like six really cool screenshots to grab attention (since your using UE4, you can use the command HighResShot for this to get a really good ingame image).
Step C: Keep the threads original post updated and keep adding links so people can easily see it.

Dont worry about typing up a crazy wall of text. No one cares for it. Screenshots speak a thousand words, even concept art is better. If you have a short teaser trailer, thats also good too.

I don't know how many times I've posted stuff like this over the last 8 years of being here. Honestly a thread that just says "Think before you post your project" should be stickied.

Why do I feel Lumoria set this precedence? :(

Project was used in that sense to make a title that sounded like Operation... Like it was the Project to take Lumoria back from the Covenant. Granted, I'm now asking myself the question why we even used that in the first place xD

OK, lets try and get something positive out of this. These people are not trying to be degrading but praise content over enthusiasm. If you look at the forms there has been tons of promises without results.

Alright, that being said I do have experience with Unreal 4 so lets see where we can get. What skill set are you trying to grow? Because if you strive to become an Unreal all star right off the bat I guarantee it will not happen. So do you want to learn...

Prop artist: make weapons, environment props, and the materials for them.

Environment artist: make terrains, forest, skys, and backgrounds.

Effects artist: make explosions, fire, and gun shots.

Matinee animator: set up cut scenes and animations.

C++ or blue print programmer: mechanics of the game and craft how it plays.

All of these skill sets are extremely time consuming to learn and take dedication to master any of them. I do not mean to discourage you but make sure you bite of the right amount or you might choke. Best of luck. :)

I think there's nothing wrong with buying general purpose props from the marketplace. One person can only do so much.

Indeed, as long as its fairly consistent with everything else in the game, why not?

Same goes with blueprints IMO. If it works like you need too or don't need to do to much to get it working, why not use it? Its there and available.
