I was about to mention that MS Paint has some brushes like that, but then again, this IS btcc22 we are talking about here

Edit:

Upon closer inspection, he literally printed it out. Judging from the formatting and from the areas highlighted in red

Speaking of scores just done my resit, professor btcc has marked my paper and his feedback was quite positive.

I was not as thrilled with the result, however it does seem like an improvement.

Feel a little threatened but not too much. Be kinda afraid. I'm not exactly your judge, more like the bailiff really. I wouldn't say I'm fighting you per se but I'm no helping either, and while I'm not your enemy entirely, I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm your friend.

All of the self-proclaimed fluents who are average, at best, with spelling yet fail hard at saving time and keeping postcount low because of something that could easily be ignored because of context clues. #YetAnotherGrammarNaziWhoFailedContextClueClass

Ohh... And have you tried Krita yet?

I have been painting textures into 3DS max's flowgraph layout with it and using it to export animation-slices for halo :)
Think of it this way: Photoshop is for touching up photos. Krita is a painting program. Also: You can animate in krita without using LAYERs. Also also: Krita doesn't periodically make the digital pens spurt out ink at 100% pressure when you use wacom hardware with it, unlike photoshop(cs2, cs4, cs5, and CC....) ^_^. OHHHHH And it's freeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEE !

Though to animate with krita, you'll need to download an unstable test version of it.

P.S. Is there a tool at compiles multiple TIFFs into .bitmap animations so I don't have to be all meticulous with how I lay them out(24FPS animations are a nightmaaaarrrrre..)?

No there is not and there would be too many variables to calculate if one was to try.

Stop taking shortcuts and make your sprites the good old fashioned way.

And stop watching anime its bad for your health.

I guess I'll go do some old-fashioned datamining until I find that old 'avi to sequenced bitmap converter' that was mentioned a few years ago.

After all, tags still look like crap without a nice BSP to put them in.

I doubt even if one existed that it would practical.

If you want to animate bitmaps you have 2 options uv tag fields or sprites.

If your going to make sprites you need to manually create your own sprite sheet in accordance with how many images you wish to include and how you would prefer for them to be animated.

You can even pre-animate your sprites by varying the scale, rotation and of course the appearance of your images within your sprite sheet.

Something no "autothingymehbob" application would be able to do unless you are a sooper hard core programmer and you look like this:

who in their right mind would create an animation without a background layer and a foreground layer.

that's classic celluloid technique

Simple. It's a raster program with an animation timeline. Useful for covering VFX and fine-tuned lighting and shadow techniques that a hindered vector animator cannot do without outside help. Or "stylistically not at all". Any self-proclaimed professional isn't going to ignore one tool entirely for the other and expect to be hired.

Meh, I use it to make animated backdrops, still-photo backgrounds don't appeal to me.

Poof! back to BSPmaking

EDIT: feel free to delete all of this offtopic mumbojumbo

I noticed that the Halo world unit information was expunged from my thread.

To reiterate, 1 world unit was equivalent (or approximate?) to 3.05 meters, correct?

I'd also like to revisit your citations for this information, just to be sure.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to confirm this, customize a HUD to show more decimal places (or something like that, if necessary) and spawn the enemy team's CTF flag 1 world unit away from your spawn point.

Latest news about Zeus is that I have been pondering making a really simple program release for Mac that will let modders edit maps (something Eschaton does) but also make tags and basic stuff like that. Also, I have been pondering making a map editor that uses SAPP and Lua scripting (Phasor may or may not be superior for this purpose), so that you can basically play a Halo game level and modify the map in real-time using the chat field to issue commands.

For example:

you enter map editing mode by saying "/edit"
you look at the ground in front of you
you say "put"
a list of object types is shown as console text, all of them categories of object-related tags, for examples, "rocks", "trees", "bipeds" and so on
you say "rocks"
a list of rocks is shown as console text, each of them numbered
you say the number you want
the rock appears in front of you on the ground

shorthand for this would be "put rocks 5" for example

when you're done, you say "/save" and the map file is saved with all the changes you made to it

So basically, it would be something like an in-game Sapien, what I had in mind for this anyway, but without the overlay step, just using text chat, and using SAPP which people typically already have installed anyway.

Thoughts?
