Seams can be easily fixed by simply unwrapping in a correct manner.

No of course not.

The blam engine like so many others is coded to support 2 dimensional texture mapping. Or "UV"

Texture space - Model space

U = X

V = Y

W = Z



Guerilla does have fields setup to support specialised 3d textures but they do something completely different.

Incase you were wondering if we only use U and V whats the point of W?

Well W is a co-ordinate designed to support 3 dimensional procedural texturing.

Something halo can't or will probably never be able to do.

If you are wondering what the 3 letters (U-V-W) actually stand for well it is quite simple.

Each group of letters follows the other in alphabetical order.

abcdefghijklmnopqrst UVW XYZ

In retrospect it's really rather crude the way in which the texture co-ordinate system was referenced, seeing as though the letters which denote each material co-ordinate were basically chosen because they line up neatly in alphabetical order with their partner 3 dimensional co-ordinates.

But it works and has been working ever since texturing in 3d became a thing.

So, as requested, I'm posting a quick update. Unfortunately, due to a technical malfunction I lost most of my CE data BUT my models were backed up (ty Google Drive and Dropbox) so I didn't lose too much content. As a result, I've had to completely restart the scenario and design process.

On the bright side, it's allowed me to explore different ideas I had during the original process and opened up the game for a greater dynamic in gameplay.

And of course, those cheeky pics.

Do you yourself have a goal on when to release this? Or are you just working on it without thinking of any date at all?

I'm honestly just working on it as I go. I'm pretty much finished all BSP modelling as it is, I've just got game play and story to play around with now.

Sounds good.
Hope you do reach a point where you can say you'd be happy with a release.
Sometimes perfectionists don't ever stop working and their projects end up never seeing light of day because it wasn't good enough by their standards.
