RIPZ RIPZ RIIIIPPZZZZZ

Hey, i started ripping textures from h5 last night, and im thinking of compiling a set with all the textures i am able to rip, including armor textures, weapons (?) and the such, this is what ive gotten so far
the models are ripped from waypoint, reach&HO, but all the textures are ripped directly from h5




here is what i did
ill try to remember to update it once there is a more effective& reliable method to rip them.
(sorry/not sorry)





cant rip the model, but heres a low res h2a beam rifle texture

Wait, so are you actually pulling the models out or just textures and applying them to the waypoint models?

Are you here to only show off and not share the content or share how it was done?

It wouldn't hurt for you to tell how it was done cause i'd like to know as well,unless you wanna be that type of guy that everyone looks at and is like OMG WOW HE HAS HALO 5 RIPS HE'S SO AWESOME I CAN'T WAIT FOR HIM TO RELEASE THEM, to make yourself feel like your special.

dude, i share my things, but not generally publicly, for example the CEA spartan, or h2a marine (which both are in the hands of VKMT) i said i nthe post im going to make a compilation of the rips. which i assumed people would understand that i meant i would share them ._.

Sharing them and tell people how it was done is 2 different things, sharing the content makes people for the time dependent on you and only you until they figure it out on their own or you tell them how it's done.

i never stated they were the same thing, besides, i have tried explaining how its done to people, but nobody seems to understand how its supposed to be done even though ive been spoonfeeding them the information required.

some people doesnt even seem to get all the files when they attempted to dump them from h5, which makes it even harder to rip the textures, which was the case for savinpvtmike& rosanna (idk if thats actually her forum name, but oh well)

you need to waste atleast close to 80gb of harddrive space, by dumping the entire halo 5 forge client which a long time, and then you need to tear the games .module files apart

And I've done all that. I literally uploaded the entire dumped contents so people wouldn't have to go through the process.

thank you for asking so nicely, updated the post, its probably messy as hell, because i have been busy figuring out things in h5 the entire day. got bored of attempting with rev engineering, so i hopped on with ripping texxies.
i spent the rest of the night doing that, so it is now 10:15am


didnt expect people to act all so entitled to knowing what the hell i was doing to get these

So, in other words: "the very minute somebody posts progress, I'm entitled to know how they did it and where I can get every single tool".

Let me tell you: getting textures from these files is a royal pain in the cooch, and that's even assuming you *have* all of the files - which I personally don't, since for some reason my computer doesn't want to unpack all of the module files correctly. When there's a tool worth putting out, people will get it - otherwise, appreciate that progress is being made, stop being an entitled little dog-egg, and be patient.

No I'd just prefer it if when an question is made not for the reply to be:

ER MAH GEWD YOU FUGGING FGGT, HOW DAER U AKS MEH KWESTCHANS???


Instead of:

"Currently the whole ripping operation is all over the place, I know it sounds like I am hiding something but I'm not. It's really difficult to pull off and If I provide you with even half an answer I fear it could lead to more questions, please be patient updates will follow"


Because god forbid people actually don't take out their frustrations out on other people....

I suppose a more civilized approach to answering queries is acceptable. No need for everyone to be swinging bats around when we're all in the same boat. When the tools are available, when they even become available after development, we'll have the means to acquire all the assets we want.

Well, all I'll say is this:

The method we have now isn't 100% reliable. We can't get the vast majority of the colour channel maps, some textures just plain don't work at all, and the ones we can get require some work in Photoshop to get them into a workable state. It is, quite frankly, an absolute pain having to browse for the texture you want, hoping it works - and if it does, then pull the textures out manually and then piece them back together like a jigsaw puzzle. The tools we have aren't fit for the task but they're all we have at the moment, and I really hope a better method comes along to automate the process.

Hell, I still have yet to DL Forge for Pc, so I can't wait to dig around and find some neat stuff. Did anyone else find stuff like the cut Grenade launcher model and textures? What other goodies are hidden in the game packages?

Plenty of stuff. Some Brute stuff, some cut textures... have a poke around when you get the chance.

no, but seriously, its what rosanna said, its just that i have a few problems getting my own word out without either being easily misunderstood or sounding like an asshole
