Is it possible to somehow disable the 16 player limit? Are there side effects to changing it which stop people from doing so?

As far as I'm aware, raising the limit to 17 has been as far as anyone's been able to manage.

Even if you could connect dozens of extra players, I would imagine the ping would get very high and would not be a good experience for players.

yeh but the guy who is creatin said it works really well and ilhe is fixin it so it runs better.

It is just a concept:
Players are just entities and in Halo's low level memory they're a bunch of data of coordinate, vectors, IDs and so on, not so different as AIs are.
So I thought some time ago we could attach players to Bipeds in Single Player, it IS POSSIBLE, but there's needed a real hacker that knows how the Halo process in memory works.
Yet it's a concept, and none could say it won't work.
