Halo 4 covenant bipeds released!!!!!

By The_only_one

YUP you read right halo 4 bipeds!!!

INPORTANT NOTE READ this FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The download is map file to get the tags you must rip them using hek+
You can also play the map by entering developer mode and typing "halo4_c_tagpack"
You should spawn in an bloodgulch like map only that it is filled with halo 4 covenant bipeds. You also spawn next to a halo 4 assault rifle (I put it there to test if the weapon worked well against the halo 4 bipeds. The map is a solo maps so it wont display in the multiplayer map list.

DOWNLOAD:
MAP: http://www.mediafire.com/file/y21473kj7h4ov2i/halo4_c_tagpack.map
README: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3w4xecnbw8obxtb/READ+THIS+FIRST%21.txt
Sorry for the several links for some weird reason mediafire doesn't let me bundle them up in one folder without upgrading to pro.

Description: First i personally don't like the halo 4 and halo 5 plastic art-style.
But i personally found halo 4 to one of the most balanced halo games.
Even if the gameplay was boring. I thought what would happen if you ported the halo 4 bipeds to halo ce. This is the result. I hope you guys might make the halo 4 covenant funnier to fight than 343.

Problems: Anyone that can help me upload the pics of the bipeds?
I have screenshoted them in halo ce then converted the TGA files to JPG but halomaps dosent seem to allow me to post pics from my own computer.

The download includes the
HALO 4 storm grunt http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Unggoy_Storm
HALO 4 imperial grunt http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Unggoy_Imperial
HALO 4 space grunt https://www.halopedia.org/Unggoy_Ranger
HALO 4 heavy grunt https://www.halopedia.org/Unggoy_Heavy

HALO 4 storm jackal http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Kig-Yar_Storm

HALO 4 elite commander http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Sangheili_Commander

copy pasted from the readme.

NONE OF THESE TAGS REQUIRE OPEN SAUCE!!!!!

Tutortial: Ripp the map by using hek and extract the tags to the halo custom edition "tags" folder.
The actor_variants are located in tags/halo4
The bipeds are located in tags/characters/kigyar (for halo 4 jackals)
tags/characters/unngoy (for the halo 4 grunts)
tags/characters/shangheli (for halo 4 elites)

IF you want to find all of the tags fast just switch to "Tag group" mode in the hek "map explorer" page.

There is also a few actor_variants in there
The elites wield halo 3 plasma rifles, halo ce energy swords and SOi singelplayer adventure covenant carbine.
The grunts wield TSCE plasma pistols
The jackals wield TSCE plamsa pistols.

BUGS!!!: The storm_jackal dosent have an jackal shield!

Things to look forward to: I am currently working on a halo reach biped tagpack, halo 3 biped tags.

Credits

(Tricky question: When i upload it to HALOce3 download page should i post in modified maps or biped tags?)

>no pictures
>not hotlinks
>puts everything into a map
>doesnt hand off individual tags

I'm sure someone appreciates this, but ripping tags is by far one of the worst experiences to deal with. Show some pictures of what you have and ensure that everything is self contained. Also giving links to the tags rather than a mapfile is infinitely more useful.

I can't post pictures because i need to wait 5 days because i created the account yesterday.
I will try to post pictures after the 5 days have gone. (be patient)

I will release them as individual tags and will create separate downloads for the tags once i get the hang of mediafire.

I appreciate your effort in trying to release these tags, but I need to be honest: they suck so hard. And I'll tell you why:

> Terrible rigging work.
> Broken shaders (probably, the original authors didn't even know how to properly setup Material IDs on 3ds Max, and so, some bipeds share the same shaders/materials when they shouldn't).
> Unexisting smoothing groups.
> Unexisting LODs.
> Unexisting work on shaders (just diffuse maps put on their shaders and nothing else).

These bipeds should be considered just a WIP (Work In Progress) at most. I wouldn't recommend to anyone to use these tags, at least that you want to re-import them on 3ds Max and fix them there (anyhow, it's easier to extract the models from Adjutant in AMF format and doing all the work by yourself, instead of trying to fix these released bipeds). If this release is some kind of joke, it's a very bad one.

Thanks for the feedback!

The ones that worked on the models were the guys working on the nemesis maps. (I think you can find the topic somewhere around these forums). Ill only use these model's to build from for another project i am working on and no this isn't a joke cause i don't like jokes weary much.
