The only way to go about creating a sky is to create a universe in which gravity exists, and ensure that a planet forms properly and indeed has an atmosphere + sunlight. The color of the sky will depend of what the atmosphere consists of. On our planet, it is blue because light tends to pass through the water particles in our atmosphere, and blue is the only color in the visible light spectrum that is able to do that. However you should be able to alter physics in your universe to satisfy your sky coloring needs. It would appear your question was already answered.
