Quote: I really hate to brag, but I'm probably the best HUD artist on the internet that doesn't work for a game studio. And that might be part of the problem - I don't have any competition from other artists. Which leads to me being the best/preferred location for all those people who want to use them.

Too much for me man. Too much for me to take in.

Who said that? :o

Halo CE General Discussion » suggestions for site Today @ 02:50 AM (Total replies: 129)

Why is it that when we edit a post, like around a third page (anything that has multiple pages) the browser takes us back to the first page? It's always annoyed me how when I edit a post in a 40th page, it always sends me back to the first.

Halo CE General Discussion » Halo for iOS Today @ 02:47 AM (Total replies: 22)

Jail broken iOS is the way to go!

Let the fighting commence plox

I even added Ki11a for the gun racks, even though it was waaaaay last minute.

Credits for grunt eater have always been on the first post, and even before then when the credits list was a WIP.

The map on the first post is final.

I've already sent it to Dennis for approval.

It's also being used in Matt's server, so you shouldn't have any other problems.

I downloaded the newest build already. I don't know what is going on here.

Try switching your client\server ports, or try my settings.

Here's a youtube video of some gameplay:

Don't be like that guy who blamed me for his controls not working properly...
Edited by Jesse on May 18, 2013 at 02:01 AM

Try reinstalling windows.

If that doesn't work, try switching your ports. Download the newest map, clear any caches for HAC, DELETE the old map in your maps folder, not replace.

Halo CE General Discussion » [RELEASE] Halo 3 HUD (V2) May 17, 2013 10:07 PM (Total replies: 3)

This is a stand-alone release of the HUD used in Foundry.

You can find my first release here:
http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5560

About:
This HUD was made over the period of a few months, years if you count my original release on this website.
I've made it a very simple task to install this HUD into your tagset, most weapons work and have their own HUD assigned to
them, but some do not have a HUD (such as the plasma cannon) because I didn't make any for it, considering I was making this HUD
for an actual Halo 3 tagset. I have however, modified many of the HUD interfaces to work with the H1 stock tagset.
The flamethrower has a HUD, the assault rifle has a 32 bullet, or 60 bullet option (and are labeled as such).

Installation: To install the HUD, just overwrite your tags folder with this one, this will overwrite the weapons, vehicles,
bipeds and necessary files so you can enjoy the HUD with a classic tagset (options for other weapons are included as well)

Changes: Some weapons were modified to fit the parameters of my HUD.

Shotgun - reduced loaded rounds to 6 (so it accommodates the meter)
Pistol - reduced loaded rounds to 8 (again, so it accommodates the meter)
Needler - reduced loaded rounds to 19 (same deal)

The only other modifications to the weapon tags was the HUD referencing. If you have a modified weapon\vehicle\biped tag and
wish to keep your own modifications, look at the installation instructions to see how to make the appropriate changes.

Manual Installation Instructions:

Weapons Installation:
To install the weapons portion of the HUD (meters, icons, numbers)
Open your .weapon of choice, scroll down to the INTERFACE section and within the
HUD INTERFACE tab, locate the "weapon_name.weapon_hud_interface" of your weapon (with the "weapon_name"
being replaced by the weapon you are using.

Vehicles Installation (Driver):
For the small arrow seen by the warthog driver, open the vehicle tag and scroll to the UNIT HUD INTERFACE section
In the UNIT HUD INTERFACE tab, add the appropriate tag for your vehicle.

Biped Installation:
To install the motion sensor, shields and accompanying items, open up your biped
(the standard cyborg was used in this example) and scroll down to the NEW HUD INTERFACES
section, there you will see the UNIT HUD INTERFACE tab, this is where you will reference
the tag for the biped:

halo3\hud_v2\bipeds\mp_masterchief (for the shields without a health meter)
halo3\hud_v2\bipeds\sp_masterchief (for the shields with the health meter)

Globals Installation:
To install the motion sensor sweepers and friendly player icon, numbers, and a file that references a ton of other things scroll
down in your globals to the INTERFACE BITMAPS section.

For the following tabs, add their respective references.

HUD GLOBALS: halo3\hud_v2\ui\default (this references a host of other tags)

MOTION SENSOR SWEEP BITMAP: halo3\hud_v2\ui\tracker_sweeper (the white scan line)

MOTION SENSOR SWEEP BITMAP M(ask): halo3\hud_v2\ui\tracker_mask (alpha blending for the sweeper)

MULTIPLAYER HUD BITMAP: halo3\hud_v2\ui\hud_multiplayer (the arrow above a teamate player)

HUD DIGITS DEFINITION: halo3\hud_v2\ui\conduit (the numbers for the weapons, grenades, flag points, ect)

Please do NOT forget the above items if you are installing the HUD, these serve a real purpose and ignoring
them will just make your map look ugly.

Grenades Installation:
To install the grenades part of the HUD, scroll down in your globals
to the GRENADES section.
Add the folling items respectively:

human fragmentation tab in the HUD INTERFACE slot: halo3\hud_v2\grenades\spartan_grenades\frag
covenant plasma tab uses halo3\hud_v2\grenades\spartan_grenades\plasma

Mounted Weapons Installation:
for the warthogs mounted weapon, open up the .weapon used by the vehicle and scroll down
to the INTERFACE section.

For the HUD INTERFACE tab add:

halo3\hud_v2\vehicles\chaingun (do this for any files that require this setup)

Pictures 'n' stuff:

This one is one I installed on a clean tagset (did the drag and drop to test if it works)

The HUD as it's meant to be used:

My old RAM was 444MHz I think.

@orangeJuice

I use Rocketdock. It's free and works great.

You get 130 FPS on lowest settings, but over 300 on highest? :o

My friends dad has a case just like yours except his is completely held together by packing tape. The thing has no side panel and the front grilles are missing and the sides of the front plastic piece are broken in two places (hence the tape).

I guess you win.

@Tom, your PC is just a bit better than my old one. I used to have:

Sony VAIO

Processor: pentium 4 @ 3.0 GHz (not even a dual core)

Graphics: cruddy integrated Intel, 224 shared video memory, and when that burned out (my PC would shut off with anything more intense than Super Mario 64) I got it an ATI Radeon x1300 pro 256 MB.

HDD: 200 GB HDD 7200 RPM

RAM: 2GB DDR2 (4 sticks of 512 MB)

1280 x 1024 Sony VAIO monitor

OS: Windows XP SP3

Peripherals: linksys card I installed + your typical Ethernet output.

FPS: foundry was in its early stages when I had this PC, but I would get around 30 - 40 FPS at 800 x 600 resolution, probably 20 - 25 at 1280 x 1024.

If I were to have used the integrated intel chip (assuming it didn't shut off my PC) I'd probably get around 10 - 15 FPS.

I'd get around 60 FPS in any default Halo map (dropped to around 40 when there was tons of mayhem)

On my new PC I get around 1200 FPS at lowest settings, and I think around 700 at highest on a default map, I'd have to check, but it was definitely way past 1000+

First.

Graphically, I think only the iPad 2/mini/3/4 could handle it, or the iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5g since it has the same specs as the mini.

THe problem wouldn't be the hardware. But the software.
