I'm relived to see they added a second shield which is functionally identical to the first shield. We really needed that feature.

If you really want to make a standalone game, I highly recommend using your intellectual property for an indie game. I don't think Microsoft will adopt game projects, but you probably wouldn't like working with MS even if they did. I know Bungie wasn't happy in their relationship.

But if you go with the Halo theme, you can have the Halo:CE engine as a fallback for your content if your new engine doesn't succeed. Good luck to you!

The scripting will look foreign at first, but it's easy when you get used to it.

You can use the forum search tool for any needs outside of the tuts. Gamma, one of the older members who's left now, has a lot of helpful forum posts in the archives.

The final release. It's been uploaded to halomaps, but you can download here in the mean time. You can change Johnson's fate in the legendary ending now.

I think I fixed the exceptioning at the final cutscene.

Also, I implemented the suggestions for the warthog. It will destroy Foehammer if you send it towards her, and it is hilarious.

Looks like the marines need to be stronger and I need to cut 2:30 off the clock.

Okay everyone, you can get out of the hog and jump on the pelican. But, by popular demand, I will make it so you have to get out and jump on it. If you ram your hog into it you will blow up.

Heck, I'll even make it so you can jump out to stay on the platform right as you drive the hog into the pelican. That totally goes against the purpose of the mod, but I believe in giving the player choices.

I am mostly done with a map which fixes the glitch where master chief falls through the Echo 419 pelican when you attempt to jump on board and save them. Of course, you can still choose to be a *blam* and finish the level as normal.

Figure 1: No man left behind!

Figure 2: Saving the marines will be a challenge, assuming you can survive

Figure 3: Master chief is not a coward

I understand why Echo 419's death is significant, but I want a level where the chief at least tries to save her. Maybe it stems from watching Black Hawk Down recently.

I've got a request for D40:

Master Chief should go rescue Echo 419 at the crash site. I think the chief should have acted more like a hero, and it's one of Halo's greatest flaws that he drives away from his burning allies. I thought about doing this myself, but I think it would go well with your campaign.

E20. Put a bunch of GTA vehicles in a map with only 3 encounters and noobs love it. Although I have to give props to whoever ripped the Walton farm truck and the yohog creator. Those are too much fun with rocket marines riding.

I can compile other maps, and there are no portals in my map. It's just got one material with +sky and a ground texture. There's only basic terrain and the sky, which adds up to 24556 vertices. It takes about 30 min to export.
