I really don't care whether or not there are already tutorials on the subject. If someone makes a request I will try to add it to the list (so long as it is something that I know how to do).
I personally use 3ds max 2010.
Quote: --- Original message by: AllySuzumiya That's cute. You actually think I'm a troll. I'm complaining about a troll.. And you think I'm a troll. You're hopeless. As for the scoring, what merits one? If we're going by valid points, he's provided none. He hasn't answered any questions accurately without dodging the conflict as a whole. I've supplied him with valid information and gave valid reasons for my claims. Perhaps, if the scores were gauged by one's lack of attention to the subject matter, you could say that he won. So no, you're not right. What you are is pathetic.
It was a joke... and, I might add, one that I did not expect you to appreciate. But for some of us (me at least) that is what made it funny
Honestly, I couldn't care less about many of the folks on this forum (like you ) so feel free to call me pathetic.
And as for score... Dennis wins because he funds this website out of his own pocket and puts up with all of us even though he doesn't have to and that has earned him about as much respect as I can have for someone that I don't actually know (which isn't really all that much... but infinitely more than I have for you). Plus he did make valid points and you did not.
I'm actually quite pleased that you got so upset over my little joke... is that rude?

Even if there is already an existing tutorial for something you can still request it here and I will add it to the list.
I'll try to get some more tutorials made soon, I've just been a little busy lately.
I am coming into this thread a bit late it seems, so whats the score?

Is that about right? Edited by Yoda on May 12, 2013 at 06:36 PM

I would like to see a tutorial on:
1. How to add a laser targeter effect to the UMP.
2. A more advanced animations tutorial. (with some curve editor stuff)
3. You hinted at a more indepth muzzle flash tutorial.(however your current one is totally fine)
4. Ohhh and that custom weapon ammo powerup tutorial.
Pretty much it I think.
Im not waiting by my LT for these tutorials to materialize so for the sake of quality and awsomness please dont rush, take your time!
Excellent, I will use that as my current to-do list for tutorials. the ammo powerup is super easy I can probably make that one very soon, so I'll start there.
Quote: --- Original message by: darksoldier Nice job, I downloaded halo 4 ui sound track a long time ago, and that tutorial helped me alot. Thank you again Yoda !
No problem, glad it helped.
I don't remember what other requests I had for tutorials. So for the sake of convenience please post any tutorial requests that you have here in this thread so I have a single list and I will get around to them as I have time.
btw, I edited my OP to contain a complete list of my tutorials so that they can all be found from one place easily. I'll keep that list updated when I make more. Edited by Yoda on May 7, 2013 at 10:58 AM

I have been too busy to do anything with halo for a while, but today I found some time and went ahead and got your request done.
Long Custom Sounds Tutorial (Halo: CE) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOGvN85yuxk&feature=youtu.be
This should be everything you need to know to compile long sounds like music and whatnot.
For anyone too lazy to copy and paste his link

Looks pretty nice, I would like to see a tag pack with natural scenery to use in maps. Like rock formations and foliage and such. I considered putting some work into that, but haven't found the time.
Are the bite of helmet part of the model?

This is a little off topic. (sorry)
But is it possible to incorporate a folding stock for the UMP.45 in the first-person ready animations? (Tutorial not required)
The hinge is pretty easy to model however I have no clue what frame or marker to apply.
(-video demonstrating my UMP's for halo.)

Hey, sry I didn't answer this before. I didn't notice your message.
Yes it is absolutely possible to do that. Once you have modelled the hinge and whatnot, simply create a frame (name must start with "frame" but then it can be whatever you want), I would probably name it "frame stock"
Make sure that the new frame is attached to the frame gun, and that your stock is attached to the frame stock, then you can animate it when you create your first-person ready.
Quote: --- Original message by: Masters1337 Yeah, it's geometry. Also, the SPV2 Public Beta of A10 exceptions with OS. I do not know if that applies to the other maps.
Thanks for confirming that. I thought that it was geometry, but I couldn't quite tell for sure without playing it myself.
Quote: --- Original message by: jackrabbit is there anyway we could link it to the flashlight and give it its owen functuion?
I'm pretty sure its the same laser as the spartin laser is using.
It looks to me like semi transparent geometry. But I will play around with it and see if there is a better way before I make the tutorial.
thanks for the link.
So basically it looks like it just sorta fades out after a short distance right? I didn't see it actually putting a red dot on things that it was pointed at.
If that's the case then it should be very easy to make.
Quote: --- Original message by: ASCENDANTJUSTICE A laser pointer tutorial for the, UMP would be good.
You would have to edit your custom ump with its attachments though..
I believe CMT added a laser pointer to their pistol in the SPV2 beta in the first mission, if you could replicate that effect and show us how to do it that would be awsome.
SPV2 is exceptioning whenever I try to run it. If you want the laser pointer tutorial you will have to make a video or take some screenshots for me. That way I can see how it functions.
Looks interesting. What kinds of weapons do you intend to include? Just vanilla Halo stuff? or custom?
I have played around with this stuff a bit. It doesn't go very well if you try using bunches of seperate objects. I had the best luck with a few larger clumps that were pre-set to match certain areas of the terrain.
That is my personal experience with it anyway.

I'll take a look at it and see what I can come up with. Shouldn't be very difficult.
Thanks for your response.
Now I have a different question. I am trying to teleport a player that enters a specific trigger volume to a flag that I have placed somewhere else.
This is what I have, but it doesn't work.
(script continuous t0 (if (= (volume_test_object lava (list_get (players) 0) true) (object_teleport (list_get (players) 0) flag4) ) )
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: nvm, we were just missing a right parenthesis. we got it now. Edited by Yoda on Apr 13, 2013 at 04:37 PM Edited by Yoda on Apr 13, 2013 at 04:38 PM
I need to spawn vehicles in race mode with an script rather than the lame race spawn system. And I need the vehicles to respawn normally. Can anyone explain how to do this?
Quote: --- Original message by: stunt_manQuote: --- Original message by: Yoda PhysX is overrated imo, it was a cool idea... but it just seems to be a performance hog. But the price thing can go both ways really, it just depends on the specific card.
Mirror's Edge and Borderlands 2 PhysX looks insane. The amount of particles on screen (especially in borderlands 2) blew my mind. Then again, I can't talk about performance issues, I have a fairly high end card, but wasn't the whole purpose of PhysX that it had its own dedicated physics processor? So it shouldn't bog down FPS?
I admit, Mirror's Edge was quite impressive with PhsyX. As for Borderlands... I assume you are talking about Borderlands 2 in which case I wouldn't know because I haven't got that one yet.
PhysX *can* have its own dedicated card, but it doesn't have to. What card/cards do you use?
