Great work, Nickster 5000! I really have only one suggestion/complaint (even though I am kind of torn on the issue of whether or not to brighten the map, as some have suggested; I'm usually fine with using the VISR most of the time). Could you implement some form of checkpoints? The reason being that firefights can take a good long time to play to completion. I was going through yesterday and got through 10+ waves but had to stop eventually due to time, but I still had a bunch of lives left.

The checkpoints could be like on Firefight: Descent, where you can save at any point, or they could be auto-checkpoints after a certain number of waves. I'm quite good at staying in cover and waiting for the enemies to come to me or picking them off with scope weapons, so I take a little longer to play and don't die as much. I usually play things on heroic the first time, so that might be why I was surviving pretty well, but the waves increase in difficulty, so they soon get pretty hard. I would dearly appreciate having some checkpoints! Other than that, I love this firefight! So atmospheric!

Just stay in cover and use either the rocket launcher, or, barring that (since it's on the more inconvenient side of the map), just use small, accurate weapons fire. Ghosts go down surprisingly fast if you hit them with enough shots from a scope weapon, such as a pistol. I know that I hardly ever used the rocket launcher and sniper rifle on this one because I was hiding out on the side with all the pistols, SMGs, and health kits. I only ran out of cover occasionally to refill my shotgun shells or grab the original non-silenced pistol. :)

Alternatively, you could do what someone else mentioned and just wait for the brutes to knock over the ghosts piloted by elites, since that seems to be a bug in the game at this point, lol.

Lolz, you guys make me laugh! And people seem pretty polite in this forum, which isn't the case in a lot of other online forums. And that music is simply BOSS. I might have to play Beyond Good and Evil now just for the music!

This analogy works about as well as the, if you don't like this restaurant's food- cook your own.

When something tastes like trash, you tend to spit it out- even if it was a free meal.

For the record, I just barely played Takedown Intro. and Project Lawson, as well, and for a fan-made mod, I am absolutely blown away. I loved the music - granted, I haven't played either Mass Effect or Beyond Good and Evil before - and when combined with some of the epic battles in the final section, the one with dropships coming down everywhere, and Flood and Covenant battling all over the place with sentinels joining in above, I actually got chills. It was that good to me. It was a refreshingly different feeling than the regular Halo games, where you feel like the center of attention/the unstoppable hero. Not that that's a bad thing, but it's nice to have a change of pace. In this campaign, I felt like one cog in a big machine, or just one more combatant in a battle much bigger than myself. Very cool!

There is something to be said for original music, but in this case, the borrowed music works quite well, in my opinion. Not looking to pick a fight here or anything, which is why I put the disclaimer that it is my opinion, which means that I'm not trying to force anyone to like what I like or dislike what I dislike. I just wanted to put in some positive feedback and congratulate Matt on a job well done! Everyone has their taste in things, and for me, this mod was awesome. (I am also a sucker for campaign mods. :p) The voice acting was not perfect, I admit, but it did the job and was definitely audible, which is more than can be said of many amateur/semi-pro VA jobs. I think Lawson's voice actor was spot on, and the recording of it sounded very clear. Also, many of the lines from wandering around the base talking to the soldiers made me laugh a lot, especially the ones from Storm. :)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Extermination parts 1 and 2, MattDratt! Don't leave us hanging for too long! :)

Oh, and LuciTheAlien, when Super Flanker said, "Be sure to let me know when you have your own successful mini mod series up and running," I'm pretty sure he meant that he'd like to see you try your hand at making your own original mod before criticizing anyone else's mods too heavily. I don't think he was suggesting that you create your own version of this mod with different music, i.e. "cook your own food."
