hey guys,

im the hoster for the {XG}clan servers, I have set up my router to allow pings, and open the ports for the servers but in the server browser the pings still don't show up.
the server works fine for the rest, you can join and play on it but the pings don't show up while in server list.

does somebody knows which port/setting I need to change in my router to allow these pings?

i got some servers up and running on halo and halo ce for my clan.
before the 1.7 patch and before i changed isp there was no lag, they where shut-down for some time till i got my new isp(and new router came with it) and the 1.8 update came out.

now they are lagy sometimes, you can't join them and your ping go's to 800 after a few minutes and if there is someone else in it...

this is very strange cause teamspeak server is running just fine...

just a few minutes ago all the servers where empty i joined up one it wasn't lagy for like 15 min and someone came in to and the lag begone i got the 799 ping and then he left and everything was normal again...

very weird.
i had this problem before and it stopped after a few months(not sure if i changed some settings in my router), but after i reinstalled my pc (cause i upgraded my motherboard) the lag is back again...

router: sitecom wl 173 connected with cable(100mb full duplex).
motherboard msi x48c(max 1GB p/s network transfer but limited to 100 full duplex)
cpu: intel core 2 quad 2.4 ghz oced to 3.0 ghz(oc doesn't resolves the problem...)

my ping is around 66 wile in the past it was 33.

3. Scroll to the very bottom for playlist members



4. Select a gametype and set your wanted values. ONLY edit Min and Max player count.
5. Now save and "build-cache-file" your scenario into a .map file!
6. After you are done you may wish to consider changing the values back, because that will affect every map you compile.

NOTE: If you happen to make this like 100 make sure you have 101 Spawn points on the map, you always need 1 more spawn point than the limit.

P.S. Prepare for lag if you do 100

i don't know if it works but it would be cool if coldsnap would get edited for this and some other big maps.


ok i did that in tool.

but still my game windows shows black.
and if i press the ~ button my mouse disappears but it doesn't shows the purple letters so i can enter an command.

also sapien closes after an few sec and tool gave me some error?

i am working on my first map and i did everything by following an tutorial.
but now i have to do the light map stuff.
when i start tool and load my map my game view just stays black.(maybe cause i use windows vista? i don't think so and i already used compat modus...)
can someone fix it for me so i can go to add vehicles and all the other stuff?(or tell me how to fix it.)

than i disabled af and aa(aa has got some strange other name)

just updated my vista 64 bit drivers to 175.16 whql non beta drivers.

everything works fine...

lets play some good old halo ce...
loading...
menu music but the loading screen keeps flashing...

reinstalled halo ce

tried on another pc but still no halo ce...

i send nvidia an email.
no response after more than 2 weeks...

does somebody know any way to fix this please?

downgrading is not really an option...
maybe we all can send nvidia an email about this?

i also got that white screen(turns black after an few seconds...) and after an few seconds my sapien closes(only when i minimize it...)

btw i am running windows vista 64 bit with an nvidia graficks card.
and used Gmax_beginner_tut

this is like my10 try to make an map and i always get stuck at tool or sapien...
and i really want to make an map

wait...
maybe you can make the textures of your new warthogs smaller by compression(may look odd but better performance)
and delete unnescasery stuff.
wel 20-25fps is good i have that in crysis and it's playable than + most gamers buy every 3 year an new pc.

i had made an map an time ago but tool gave me errors with that tutorial well i find another tut.

well it has an hi rating so i guess it's good.

it says i have to make an layer picture of my map but how do i do this in paint?
i also got paint.net which i tried but than i save the picture of my map as 1 layer... and use tool but than tool gives me errors...

can someone tell my clear how i make my map or send em an very good tutorial cause i really get confuse(yes i searched the forums and also searched other tutorials)
and if i don't understand something ill ask in this topic again.

ow and the link to the tutorial is broken in the sticky...
+ tutorial may be text(with pictures please) or an video(with speaking and you should hear it good cause i seen vid tut's where its like if they are talking will eating... or with background noice...) they should also be understandable for someone that's not English.(yes i can write and read English but if they are gonna talk with hard word's i don't understand)

ill send my old map that gave errors soon i got 2 upload it as an zip maybe someone can look in to it? and fix it for me so i can make my first map(may be stupid but its just for learning)

ok the problem with this map i when i open it in sapien(for radio city things) i only get to see black i don't see the sky... and when i press the ~ button i don't see the halo console and my mouse disappears...

sorry i cant help you with your problem but maybe it should be col to make an some biger level with real highways.

if you make bigger maps make the vehicles faster 2 cause it takes so long to drive to the other side...

well i followed this tut: Yayap's_HCE_Tut_final

after the gmax stuff i get in to the problems well i fixed the most with some other people.
but when i start sapien i cant see the map.
and after an few seconds the game closed.
ok the told me i had to run lightmap i did.
same problem we have checked the debug file and fixed some problems but it keeps closing.
i also tryid to start with admin rights(i run windows vista x64 bit ultimate)

and i really want to make my first map i tryid it so much times and i finally came true the gmax part.

the told me i had to use another tut and do it all over again or ask here...
well i don't want to do it all over again...
can it be that its the gmax file?(i am not 100%shure maybe there have been parts of the cliff over the ground but i dident get an error in tool(i had errors time ago but its fixed) )

B:The train idea, it seem completely impossible, if you were thinking about the halo 2 train, you should notice it was moving scenery, I also heard moving scenery in halo ce does not sync, next even if you found a way, how would you make the doors open, how would you make seats, and finally how would you make the train stop at certain locations? The only way for you is to make a vehicle that would stick to the tracks and that you could drive. Also you would need to make a train track that it would stick to, all of this would need hours, maybe months of scripting, sorry to burst your bubble.

if you want you can begin with the stuf^^ ow and i have some freands that also wanna learn map making maybe the can help.

emm you could us the normal coldsnap and than change the map so whe have tunnels and so read messages^^

than we change the snow a little(make it hi qualitie snow that looks more real)

add the vechilles(and use the new longsword)

than add some other stuf

i know this is very big do it at your own speed you don't need to do all of this
some others could help you(at least i hope)
