I found this video on YouTube of running Windows XP on a PS3, and Halo on Windows.

Looks fantastic, but the Brute Shots sounds suck.
Could you please clarify those instructions? They're shaky at best, I haven't been able to get this to work. The portal gun will shoot, but wont create portals.
No releases yet?
Yes, yes you can.

Quote: --- Original message by: Patrickssj6Sorry guys but my computer broke down on me about a month ago and it's still in repair. I will promise that I'll release the most user friendly version of this portal gun you guys can imagine (as far as the engine can handle it). It will sync . We also have a custom model or we are going to use the original portal gun. Once again...sorry for the delay. Until then... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqY8H7CdSXg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxWIhYU7i_4
This looks fantastic! Just replace the pistol model with a fan made portal gun and you're in business! I would love to see this completed some day, it could be epic.
Holy crap, I can't believe it can be done! Even if it can't be made see-through, a gun which repositions the teleporters input/output would be awesome.
Hey people, I haven't posted in here for a while, but I just saw something that gave me a great idea.
So there's been alot of hype over this new game Portal recently released from Valve. UT04 fans are already adapting this great idea, and I think that the Halo community should too.
Imagine, being in an intense firefight and your shields are low, you shoot a portal off into a distant wall, and another beneath you; instantly removing yourself from deadly combat to regenerate.

So I was just playing some Halo 2 when I saw this hilarious glitch. I had Fraps running so I was able to video it :)

I'm proud to present you all with a video tutorial on Installing and Uninstalling Halo 2 on Windows XP. I hope it helps
http://xirror.com/spread/89716254/Halo_2_Windows_XP_Tutorial.rar.html#
I've made a detailed video on Installing Halo 2 on Windows XP, creating a desktop icon & uninstalling. Trouble is, I wont be able to upload it until next month when I have my full speed back, OR, I can get to somewhere with a good connection. Sorry guys :\
Any chance of a beta so we can see for ourselves and not through the video?
I finally got around to uploading my map, Surrender or Die. Unfortunately Dennis didn't put anything under Author which sucks because I included my Halo Maps alias (Projectiles) in the Read Me I uploaded with the map.
Well anyway, hope you enjoy it, the people who helped test did (thanks testers! [Oh, and thankyou HGuru for the vehicles teleporter shields, you're awesome!]).

Also, Dennis didn't use the kick arse pics I uploaded with the map, but used one of those crappy overhead shots etc. Here are my pics :)

See PM for reason. Edited by Dennis on Jul 15, 2007 at 05:53 PM
Quote: --- Original message by: Nexus Halo It is outdated hints why 90% of us have Windows XP. Eventhough some people hate Vista ,for no particular reason, will eventually upgrade. You want a new PC? You get Vista.
Or you ask for XP if you have the PC built. But hey, having Halo 2 running on Windows XP is essentially for people with lower-end computers such as myself. Let me put this into perspective for you: I cant play it on Vista (I have Vista on a separate partition, the framerate is so low it's inoperable), I can play it on XP. Now before you point out the obvious in that I need a new PC, not everyone has money bursting forth from their wallet.

Ouch.
I recorded a bunch of Halo 2 sounds if any map maker is interested.
Download: http://www.box.net/shared/x8scsquoaa
Currently Includes..
Vehicles: Banshee, Ghost, Tank, Warthog (both), Wraith Human Weapons: Battle Rifle, Pistol, Rocket Launcher, SMG, Sniper Rifle
Also if you have a request for a certain sound I'll see what I can do. Edited by Projectiles on Jul 13, 2007 at 11:38 PM
Quote: --- Original message by: Miso I don't see a problem with going out and mowing a few lawns for like 10 $ :(..I watched the video's on youtube and this patch thing isn't really stable.. looks like it crashes A LOT.
I've had no crashes yet??
Quote: --- Original message by: raidmaxQuote: --- Original message by: Dennis Upgrade to Vista Sorry, but I am not willing to buy Vista only for halo 2 at the moment. But thanks for that help, Projectiles, Ill try that and see if it works.
Let me know how it goes :)
Quote: --- Original message by: raidmax Well, I tried it and it got me into the main menu and all, but when I go to get into a campaign, it stays at the loading screen. Anyway to fix this?
Here is the problem you are having (I believe):
"The game mildy chokes, it just a needs a friendly slap on the back:
after selecting difficulty, hit ALT+f4, select NO, hit ESC, select a difficulty again, wait 10 seconds."
I found this on an unofficial FAQ for Halo 2 on XP problems: http://halo2xp.tk/
