nope still doesn't work I tried the 98 thing and din't work and I don't have a refresh program so I didn't try that.

Alright this has nothing to do with combat evovled! I'm talking only about halo custom edition. I have installed combat evovled and I got the DXDIAG patch what ever it is for the ATI RADEON 256mb graphics card for XPSP2. So thats solved but I get the same problem with custom edition and I can't find a patch for it. Heres the exact error message. A problem occured initializing Directx3D. Hardware acceleration may be disabled please run DXDIAG. I've run DXDIAG no problems. I downloaded custom edition from Halo Files. I've looked everywhere on google, and I can't find it on here, I even asked yahoo questions still no answers. I have full acceleration. I have a legal copy. No virues/malware/or other crap. I don't care if this was already answered, just point me to the post/link. I just want to play halo custom edition and I can't!

P.S Why did they name both games Halo CE and have them stand for two diffent thing, did the developers really screw up there.
