Again, there is no "reflection maps and shaders being extracted right". The reflection maps are being extracted fine. There are no problems with extracting reflection maps, and all you can see from shaders are what bitmaps the game references for applying to each model. The shaders in halo games are meant for use in halo games, being that they are using an engine much more different when compared to say the Cryengine or unrealengine. You can't just simply take the shaders and try to slap it onto another game or program and expect it to look exactly like you want it to. Recreate it yourself instead of expecting extracted shaders to be "correct" to spoonfeed you.

It's not slow but it's not fast either. It's decent.


Actually, 666mhz is not possible for DDR3 RAM. You're using Double Data Rate (DDR) ram, so you have to multiply that 666mhz by two, which is 1332 (1333). 1333mhz is generally the default class speed for DDR3 RAM.

I have never re-seated my RAM on all of the three desktops and two laptops that I own. I don't seem to have any problems even after five years.

Yes, it is better to have the overall flow of the map to be similar throughout. One place should not have a significant amount of extra polies than another place in the map.

Skype has great voip quality but horrible text chat, file transfer, ui, sound notifications, and doesn't like being closed.


UI is fine, and I turn sound notifications off for all my IM programs. Personally, I hate beeping sounds from IMs. File transfer is much more reliable than xfire, that's for sure. I think the main reason I use skype is for voice chat, nowadays I'm too lazy to type.

It seems that people's computers nowadays are supposed to be able to handle these games with ease (with the exception of yours), therefore objects with high poly count are no problem. Decreasing poly count is lowering quality (unless used for LODs), and you would want an old game like Halo CE to have as much quality as it can get.

He uses Adjutant to extract sounds from Halo 3 maps.

(I think you've been gone for a while.) Adjutant now supports sound extraction for Reach, Halo 3 and ODST and support for Halo 4 maps.
