Yes, let's stick a 560m in a Celeron machine. I don't know if you have any knowledge of the computer market, but more often than not lower-end CPUs are only going to pack the integrated graphics chip. And I think we've already confirmed that the Intel GPU is not the issue here.
Halo modding is obscure my foot. I don't know if you've noticed, but the only damn reason to get CE instead of PC is to use custom maps. And stop making up percentages, until you interview every bloody Halo CE player on video all you're spouting is utter bolshevik.
And I hope you do realize that Opensauce has existed for quite a while now, far before SPV3. It's always been obscure. It always will be to a majority of the CE community that only care about playing cool player-made maps. I don't see what you're trying to dispute here...far fewer people know about OS compared to those with knowledge of CMT and their many maps.

There are plenty of people outside this forum that know of CMT, mostly for SPV1 and the many multiplayer maps they pushed out through the years. Willing to bet a lot more than 50% know about it, as long as we're dealing with made-up percentages here.
OS will always be obscure, that's a fact, at least until the people behind it figure out a way to force it on unsuspecting Halo players.
That's bull***t and you know it, Jaz.
I guess I should clarify as to what I'm going to do with it here.
Not so much in the HUD as I don't intend for the player to ever spawn (sorry for conveying that improperly), but just stuck in that limbo with the buttons and observing what occurs. Like if the buttons on Descent spawned guys instead of yourself and you just watched.
I want to do something in the vein of a tongue-in-cheek sidescroller strategy game within Halo, like Swords and Soldiers or Alien Hallway, except with marines and yadda yadda.
I will look at the scripts, thank you.

Quote: --- Original message by: Kills_Alone I like how you keep repeating what I already suggested as if it were new information.
Everyone should know that Celeron CPUs and Intel GPUs are bottom of the barrel thus games will run slower on them.
But my point was that he may have two GPUs and to test his system with other games to see how it works out; he has not responded to either request so we cannot know more, we can only make assumptions and educated guesses. He did update his display drivers but we still do not know what type of GPU it is.
TwinReaper is correct; if he just got this new system there is the possibility that he can take it back or get some type of upgraded hardware if it is not giving enough gaming power but first we need more information.
@OP: Like I said (and you may have already done), run Windows Update which should update your Direct-X and GPU as well.
You can usually get a newer graphics driver from the manufacturer, usually a newer driver then what Windows Update provides.
Then tell us what files are missing. And tell us if any other games can run and how well. If you want to test another game try an FPS as they usually push a system harder. If you can run any newer FPS games then H2V such as Crysis then that would tell us a lot about your system.
He's clearly stated it's a laptop. There's no GPU swapping to be had, or upgrades for that matter. And of course, 'buy a new pc' is likely going to fix the issue, but that should be the 'if all else fails' option when troubleshooting issues, something many people fail to realize when they offer support.
As far as you claiming I'm regurgitating what you've already said, the only thing you've done is repeat "Update Direct-X and get all Windows Updates" about a dozen times. I've had the missing DLLs issue and checking for updates via the horrendous but useful Games for Windows Live app fixed it.

Are you serious? All the weapons' stats (damage, accuracy, etc) were adjusted for balance, for gameplay. What you said is not true in any way. It's as if you decided to buy game just because someone told you to. Edited by Dumb AI on Nov 19, 2012 at 08:46 PM
..? Uh..no. The games came before the books, and I've yet to read anything that contradicts the stats given to the weapons ingame. And even if that were so, game canon is superior in the Halo scheme of things, take Reach for instance.
I realize Sgt asked for this discussion to stop, but I'm not going to stand for someone blatantly calling me a liar. PM me if you wish to argue this further.
I think you posted in the wrong thread xD

Almost every weapon in Halo is as accurate as a drunk hobo pissing save for those expressively designed by the devs with precision in mind. An M16A4 is going to be a fair degree more accurate than, say, an MA37.
Quote: --- Original message by: Masters1337 You don't need OS to do it, but you can only do one Loadout screen per map. With OS, there is an option to load as many of those screens as you want. It's been a while since I looked at the setup for the player help ui.
Basically what I'm wanting to do is spawn a guy when the player presses a button like the one in the loadout selection screen that'll be on the HUD 100% of the time.
M16A2 vs MA5B
Which do you think is more effective in combat
It didn't? Oh.
My memory fails me xP
I wanted to say 'Khan Empire' but I'm willing to bet very few people would have picked up what it was from the getgo.
Title says all. The loadout selection screen in Descent was pretty spiffy, can that be pulled off without using OS?
Some people here have egos rivaling the Mongol Empire in size. Doesn't seem that bad in proportion.
