You can add 'fov=number' to the preferences.ini file.

If you have any logs for the crash when you exit, I can look into it.

also there is small bug where scope blur disabled and enabled are interchanged, i.e. when it's disabled it says in the console that it's enabled.

Thanks, I'll look into that. I don't want to talk too much about features in the pipeline until there's something that's close to release though.

  • Minor bug fix for console text output

  • New command, redirect_kill_feed, will take the kill-feed out of the chat area and display the messages on the HUD, Mac/Xbox style.

  • Toggling sightjacking and multiteam vehicles on the server will now update HAC clients instantly, rather than only after a map change/new game


There is still work in the pipeline but it's a very slow pipe.

HPC does actually use multiple cores, just not to great effect. Having said that,it also has no need to use multiple cores to great effect.

Did you make sure to copy vorbisfile.dll to the same directory as guerilla.exe?

Running as admin also works fine for me - no virtual store involved.


Run your tools as admin or move them to a directory that doesn't need administrative rights to write to. Problem solved.

I've made a build of HAC2 with a 'time' control command for you, here. Just rename the .dl_ to .dll and drop it into your Halo folder.

The command is 'time <tickrate>'. A value of 0 will freeze the game and 30 will run the game at the correct speed. For best results, start an Internet game from within Halo.

This was supposed to be for a dedicated server game pause command but development has been glacial.

Magnetism refers to bullets, not your reticle, being pulled towards an enemy target. It's present in every Halo game, PC and console.

The maps have to go through me, although the next release (whenever that may be) should see decentralised map downloading, allowing servers to host their own maps.

Good question. The intention was to switch to signed updates to ensure that the updater will only accept files that I've produced. Admittedly, development of HAC2 has stagnated thanks to a combination of other projects, life and (mostly) needing a break from Halo-related development.

With that said, I'll do what I can to replace the ailing loader.dll by the end of the month.

Dennis' concerns weren't about whether a bug in the HTTP library's networking in conjunction with a Direct3D related issue would cause a crash under particular conditions but rather trust.

Edit: Services should be functional once more.

I'm not a fan of the skybox. It clashes with the map's sandy aesthetic. Burial Mounds has a somewhat similar aesthetic and a much better skybox.

I'd say that while most players in your typical scrim didn't bother, the ones at the higher levels of play did. There are a number of timer programs floating around from back in the end that were fairly popular.

I'm thankful that competitive PC players generally played 'no heavies' on smaller maps. Shame that didn't always apply to the FRG on larger maps too.

HAC2 actually has a timers with a team broadcast option but they were disabled before release. If anybody ever compiles it from source, there's a bonus feature.
