So... 2 things prompted me to come check out the forums again after almost a year of not even thinking about this place (as well as Custom Edition in general, as life gets on you have to start prioritizing certain things in life and I guess this was one of those that got left at the cutting floor.)
Anyways the first thing was SBB's nice 2018 community recap video, really made me see ya'll are still inspired and crazy tinkering away at this game and it really put a smile on my face.
The second thing was, I recently watched this video by Down The Rabbit Hole, about a crazed programmer with a dedication to religion, and the similarities to Sparky was so immediate it shocked me.
And what a surprise that I see the same song and dance of self labeled victimization and persecution complex is still being danced.
Sparky the fact that time after time you try the same thing and that the very clear arguments about the way you present your ideas and projects (and how it pushes people away) is not getting through to you makes me worried.
Halomaps obviously isnt the greatest place to talk about mental health, but I do earnestly have to say that I think you should get help Sparky.
Anyways early happy new years everyone and I wish luck on all of you talented people working on projects!

Dono if it's the same with you but I don't get motion sickness with 30fps.
Simulation Sickness is not something I made up, it is a very real thing that happens to people who are susceptible. Educate yourself .
A. Simulation sickness (motion sickness) caused by intense movement or the brains precieved notion of intense movement, combined with low framerates can cause terrible migraines or worse in many people. And even when I have camera control thats at 60+fps when other aspects of the game is still only updated at 30 it can still trigger feelings of nausea. This "Visual Gimmick" is actually an incredibly helpful tool that alleviates almost all these issues. (Take it from someone who gets pretty nauseous when having to play a game thats ~30fps up close on the monitor).
B. There is nothing "clashing" about the Art-side visuals of Halo 1 with having high framerate... Have you played the original Doom? Or Quake or any old PC FPS's that ran at high framerates? Its honestly a baffling point to even be made that a games performance can clash with a games art.
Assuming so since he still posts updates on his Youtube channel.

I dont think you understand what kind of legal implications that has on fan games. Allowing people to port stuff is a direct violation on microsoft's Game Content Usage Rules, and could instantly cause any fangame to get shut down.
Well adding modding support to your free release fan game isn't illegal per-se.
But having a tool that directly ports assets from CE would definitely be a big legal no no.
Yea pretty much anything from the Cole Protocol, or First Strike would make entertaining levels.
Honestly I'm surprised that 343/MS haven't already made a First Strike game (I'm sure someone tried to pitch it) considering it covers the gap of CE and 2. Not to mention theres ALOT of interesting stuff that could be used in gameplay.
The Asteroid Base, Unyielding Hierophant, even a space mission where you have to infiltrate Ascendant Justice would be good material.
Not to mention you could do the whole Split Narrative thing Halo 2 tries to do, but from the PoV of the Chief and Fred.
Not sure how much intersection there is in this community for people who enjoy Gundam and also mod CE, but hey cudos! They look pretty great.
How is CE in ultra wide? Does it enhance the experience?
