Go into your Halo CE folder, and look for a file called "debug.txt". Open it, and scroll down to the bottom. If you had any errors during compilation, they should appear here.

Copy the entry, and post it to this thread.

So, you changed all of the Bigass to CMT tags.

Sapien can open the .scenario file with no errors.

Did your map compile with no errors?

Post your debug.text file. That will help us better understand the problem.

So, when you opened your map, there was an exception?

There are many things that could cause this. It's likely you have a problem with tags.

Are you able to open up the .scenario file in Sapien? Do you have any missing tags?

It looks like there are some missing tags. You need to obtain the 'green_light.light' tag.

You need to open up the bigass map in the HEK+ and extract all of the tags within the .map file. This should help you obtain the green_light.light tags.

Yes, there are people playing there. Illegally.

I don't think that CE is dead. If it were to die, it would not be a good thing, it would be really sad.

CE has a great community, with at least 2000 active players online at least once a week, not bad for an 11 year old game.

You could use command lists, to get bipeds to perform specific actions. You could also make your own 3p animations and use them.


Did you add any tags to the tutorial map? If so, then it is likely that you have missing tag references. You need to find the tags that were show in the debug.txt file, and insert them into the correct directories.

Okay, so apparently I cant compile ANY scenarios.
So I can even try it with unedited maps and I will get the same error. :/
I think my Tags a broken, because I had to use all my Tags from a old Backup and replaced them with my newer ones. So I quess it broke now everything and now nothing is happening.

I would recommend getting a new copy of tool. If you can't compile any scenarios then there is likely a problem with tool, sapien or the entire HEK.

Well, at least you have it working again.

I know that there is no need for my method of solving the HS syntax error if you use OS sapien, (at the time I had suspected that there may have been a problem with OS saipen or OS tool).

I don't think that there are any perfect tagsets. To my knowledge, there are no tagsets that are free of the 'sound bug' or problems with cutscenes and scripts. Even the 'bug free' tagset.

All you have to do is go into guerilla, open the scenario file, take a10 for example, delete refrences scripts and something else that's around those two, open in sapien and recompile using zteam scripts and it works flawlessly for me. Now I'm really confused.

I did not say that you can't compile scripts with OS-Sapien. I merely suggested an alternate method of recompiling the .scenario files scripts, so that they can be opened with non-OS sapien, and then compiled.

You need to install the Halo Editing Kit.

I would recommend learning how to use sapien and the HEK before attempting to add weapons. There are many HEK tutorials on Halomaps.org, which will explain how to use the HEK.

That is true, but I believe that the OP is trying to obtain the .scenario files for Halo CE, for compilation, (which to my knowledge, the HEK+ will not corrupt).

Also what I meant was that the OP should not use the .scenario tags included in the Bug Free SP Tag pack, as they will give the "HS syntax definition too large" error, which would not allow one to open the .scenario files in sapien, (which would obviously leave you unable to recompile the scripts).

I wouldn't recommend using the 'bug free' SP tags on Halomaps. You should try extracting then with the HEK+. Alternately, you could open the .scenario file in OS sapien, remove al scripts from the scripts file and then recompile the scripts. After doing this, open the .scenario file in non-OS sapien, place the original campaign scipts in your data directory, recompile the scripts and then compile the map.
