I think just about every one comes to that conclusion in time, hacking & mod'ing is a good learning experience. some people just seem to do well in a rather limited environment, maybe lack of growth(in expectations & skill) or extreme dedication(to improve what you have)? not so much trying to judge(or be a fan boy) but understand what keeps these veterans going. any old timers share why they Mod these days? the ease & quickness is my guess, not every one wants to do everything from scratch.

an example of Mod'ing is CMT, working around severe limitations to produce a pretty good Campaign, while TheChuckerBean found way more opportunities in Unity

Is it just me or does it seem utility designer's (HAC2,OS, Chimera, etc.) seem to leave after a few years but Map/Tag design teams stick around for ever?

Kal_El, The ShadowMods UI you linked does not have the same goals as the UUI(to be Universal) & as such the feature set is not a replacement for the UUI.

EDIT: to anyone reading this, it was not worth my time, nothing got installed, just tell them to use google & then tell you specific errors, if they can do that it's a waist of both your times. help those who help them selfs, or feel stupid like me :(

My thoughts

The Marines driving is Hilarius. Female Marines don't sound very female. the Menu's "load Game" crashes the game, the mouse cursor is unpleasant & the Credit's to the Settings! Easy is Noble difficulty i think. The purple weapon with the stats on the right in multi colors doesn't shoot. I do like the thought of a much more open world feeling firefight & am looking foreword to see how it progresses. We seen lots of innovation in the FPS gameplay but less in the Menu's, your "gun rack" is cool & your Menu is Yelo based, which is interesting. ShadowMods team has been making some cool UI's (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMepaspVWvY) & i hope to see more end to end thought going in the projects, too many neglect the menus if you ask me.


That 'EAX Enabler' has caused no audio for many, SPV3 includes it but i'm not sure what PC configuration is incompatible, Every one should remove it anyway as there is a better way to get Environmental Sound called "DSOAL" i even called for a vote if you don't trust me https://opencarnage.net/index.php?/topic/7471-open-source-eax-emulation-dsoal-better-then-creatives-alchemy/, so to remove that old version of Creative's ALchemy delete dsound.dll (& dsound.ini for good measure) & go to https://opencarnage.net/index.php?/topic/7383-the-halo-ce-ultimate-enhancement-guide-updated-141118/ then search for "11. Enable EAX Effects using DSOAL" & grab a build(as i don't know the difference's the latest should do) & extract that in FOM. although i'm not sure it will make much of a difference with such an open map but that not the point, it's doing are best that matters.

not totally true , here https://opencarnage.net/index.php?/topic/7158-opensauce-v4-hac2-compatibility-fixes-for-halo-ce-v10/ i detail how to run HAC2 & OpenSuace on Windows 8-10, & the "Fix" does not disable HAC2(at least for me on windows 7). OS development ended in 2015.

now with that out of the way i thank for helping Noobs, one can't know every thing anyway.

You should check out CMT's current home https://www.reddit.com/r/halospv3/

so here is how it went down

  • Masterz1337 starts to mod the Campaign, others join him, they what to add a few more levels

  • they release there mod of the original first six missions, the extra levels are cut,

  • they release the last fore missions, including a Moded version of TSC:Evolved

  • they what to make an ODST campaign codenamed "OddBall", but this is canceled

  • they now plan on adding to, changing, & fixing there SPV3 Mod for the future



for more details try looking at there Reddit or Discord. i know my details are wrong but it gives you an idea of what happened, where's Massterz when we want him?

Sorry man, i agree that is is no longer what is was. i shall rename it to "Halo CE Hell" with (once a good Guild) as that seems fitting now, you where what made it special, like how masterz makes SPV3 what it is, same goes for SBB Storm of storm & blackbird. how ever sad it my be i'm not morning the past. if your server seems fitting i will add it to the list, but first i need an invite link, yes the one you gave does not work for me, feel free to DM me anytime.

well than use ether HAC2(devmode 1) or Chimera(chimera_devmode true) to enable Developer mode once your in-game, not before.

Masterz I.G. CMT even includes Chimera in SPV3, which uses the latest version of OpenSauce & has (according to them) over 100K downloads, so ya put your mind at ease, they are as compatible as compatible can be!

not that i know anything but i remember a tool that did this, seems i way to start is using "cheat engine" to modify memory addresses. so ya hope fully some who knows how will respond. maybe 002 can make chimera do this? he's already depreciated many functions of HAC2, why not this.
